My new computer

I have a thread in the members area but figured I'd share with all. I'm really excited about getting a new computer. The monitor is awesome, 22" HD. I was originally going to get a Gateway but they didn't have the package deal anymore. I got this slimline design HP instead. It's got intel dual-core processor, 4GB Ram and 500GB hardrive. It was cheaper than the Gateway package so I also picked up an 8megapixel Canon Powershot A590. What I really like is no more plugging in the camera. I just put the SD card into the slot in front of the computer and it uploads them immediately. I can just delete the ones that suck right away and keep the good.

My friend got the same PC, same monitor and everything. I just hope you have better luck with it than he did.

Why, what happened to it?

He never maintained it so it eventually caught up with him, he had to reformat it twice and had it out for repairs once. I think as long as you keep it up to date, updates, defrag, virus scans, etc. you should be okay, just like with any computer.

Oh, OK. Probably downloading $hit he shouldn't have been too. I'm convinced my GF killed my Dell with downloading games. I never had a problem in almost 3yrs. till she started downloading them. A week later I had popups that were coming from my computer. Attatched to system files so I couldn't get to them. I'm going to have to ask around about backup discs and such. Best Buy tried to get me to buy some $200 service to create backup discs and some other crap.

Good lookin' computer, ez!!

Just some tips that might help keep it working properly...
1. Nice 22" monitor. DO NOT practice wedge shots on wintery days in the same room as the 'puter. ProV's and monitors don't mix.
2. Go to WalMart and purchase some painting masks. You know, those white circular ones that cover your mouth. Otherwise, when WBL gets back into buying a new driver every week, your drool won't ruin the keyboard.
3. Be extremely careful when searching for golf items on the new computer. Googling things like "balls" and "shafts" and "cart girls" could find things that might take your mind off the game of golf, but end up with a virus in the computer and a lump on your head if the sig other catches you!! (p.s. If you do happen on some of those reeeeaaaaalllyyy gggoooddd sites, we expect you to post them for us all to enjoy.)

HP is a good brand. Dell has problems these days so none are exempt if you don't treat them right. You'll like that 'puter I'm sure. Make sure you have some good virus software on it and a good spyware program too. If you use Internet Explorer download all the updates too. Others browers are safer though.
