User profile snooping...

LOL...

I found it funny that the last 3 days I've had people from the YahooSlurpSpider checking out my profile....

Think there's a hidden meaning to that?

It's interesting, as alot of the guys I play golf with are lefties. Apparently, 1 in 9 golfers in Canada are left handed. I'd beleive it around these parts.

I know a guy that grew up playing golf left handed for 16 years before his brother moved away and took his set of clubs. He then learned to golf right handed with his Dad's set after. We played 18 holes a couple weeks back and he had a drive that stopped 2 feet from a tree, a dead shot for a righty. He borrowed one guy's 3 iron that was with us, a lefty, and smoked it dead from 215 to about 8 feet. A 3 iron, no less!

Stupid lefties.

Is there some famous left Canadian golfer in history? Someone canadian kids look up to? My son wanted to be a left golfer SO BAD because of Phil Micky. He can hit pretty good that way too. I pretty much pressured him into righty for ease of instruction and equipment choices.

I am wondering if that has anything to do with Canada's most favorite sport of hockey? For some reason, a lot of right handers shoot left handed in hockey even in the states. As most kids start really young at hockey and the slap shot and golf shot are similar, I am wondering if that is the reason for the increased number of lefties up in the great white north? They just transition their hockey skills into a golf swing.

I grew up shooting right handed in hockey, but had to switch to a left handed shot once I became a goalie. It takes too much time to switch the stick over to shoot right handed rather than slide the right hand to the top of the stick and shoot lefty. That was a difficult transition, but once I learned it, it became second nature.

Ideas, opinions?

It's definitely hockey, Ulatim. Definitely.

Mike Wier is a lefty. I heard (Silver perhaps?) that he's kind of a tool. This doesn't suprise me. He interviews like Don Johnson did in Tin Cup. All cool when the camera is on, but a jerk behind the scenes.

I bet alot of guys are like that tho.

Anyways, left handed golfers suck.

Maybe, but having that left handed shot when you're next to a tree is nice. No way I could one 215 though, that's awesome.

It's nice if you happen to be carrying a left handed 3 iron!

I learned it by turning a 5 iron upside down and then taking a left handed swing. I haven't practiced it in awhile but it's still a good shot even if your bag is legal.

I am a right hander, I golf right handed, bat right and throw right, but in hockey I shoot left. Some of my golf/hockey buddies find this strange as they are also righties, but play all sports left since the hockey dominance.

I read an article once which polled hockey stick manufacturers to see which way people shoot. The results were very interesting. In North America the results were about 60-40 for left. In Europe 90% of all players shoot left. I thought this was absurd, until I started paying attention when watching HNIC.

I have yet to see a right handed shot, from a euro in the NHL. Rock, Silver... take a peek tomorrow night and let us know what you see.

Best up and coming Euro player in the NHL, bar none.

And, he's a righty.

How hard was that?
