Europe and a new ice age?

It always baffled me how the weather in Europe could be that much different than ~~Iceland~~Greenland(see, the names still work today) when they are at the same latitude....

Seems to be that the warm water from the ~~golf~~GULF stream is what keeps much of Europe from becoming an entire sheet of ice.

Now, scientists are speculating that if the ice melts too much, and floods the north Atlantic with fresh water it may shut off this 'gulf stream' and the warm water would no longer flow up towards Europe. They expect Much of Europe to become extremely cold and possibly enter a new ice-age by mid century.

Which i found to be hilarious....all them smug Europeans shoveling snow in July.

Of course, this was all brought on by Global warming, which would melt the ice caps, flood the north Atlantic with fresh water messing up the gulf stream.

So...global warming causes ice-ages....

I cannot believe i typed golf 3 times instead of gulf. Muscle memory everyone, its not always a good thing!

Yeap...along with its Northern Atlantic Drift(which is too long to write which is why i didn't use that.)

I know what the Gulf Stream is, but what's a golf stream, eclark? The place your balls ususally wind up?

Greenland is colder than Iceland, isn't it? I thought Iceland, despite the name, was actually a very desirable climate.

Totally missed that...and yeah, i have had a couple slices that i bet could make the GULF stream from here...

Haven't you guys seen "The Day After Tomorrow" with Dennis Quaid? The oceans were flooded with fresh water chaning a current and bringing on a new iceage throughout the world.
