Leftovers

Who here, like me, loves leftovers?

Certain foods just seem to taste better after they have sat in the refrigerator a few days...

Came from a family that would make big meals and leftovers were a part of life...

Just ate a brat i grilled last Saturday and it was fantastic!

Re: Leftovers

Some things just need to be left in the fridge a few days, like i cannot stand tunafish sammiches the first day...i make the tunafish then put it in the fridge for a few days...much better after.

Not a big fan of fried chicken really...much rather grilled or baked.

Re: Leftovers

I'd say at least three out of five weekday lunches are left-overs for me. I'm a big big fan of l/o.

For me it's been two fold this year as l/o has saved me a ton of coin as well as calories. I find that I eat just a little less for dinner so that I can have enough for lunch the next day. In the past I would polish off that lil' extra (ie over eat) and then go out for lunch the next day.

Same here, most leftovers are my lunch, which is usually awesome.

Even leftover steak is pretty bueno.

Re: Leftovers

I love leftovers. Love 'em. Chili, chicken soup, and cornbread (maybe that's just me) taste better when refrigerated and re-heated the next day. Whenever I make food, I usually make enough for 3-4 meals (growing up in a household that cooked for four people has given me a screwed up sense of proportion; plus, I've been deliberately eating smaller portions, I usually have enough left over for 4 days).

Re: Leftovers

I'm working on the road right now, so ordering too much and taking leftovers is an easy way to pack a lunch. Just had lunch at Buffalo wild Wings and taking the leftover wings in for lunch. I agree with Fitz about leftover chili. The spices blend in over time, better the next day or two.

Re: Leftovers

I wish I liked leftovers leftovers...except pizza. I generally cant stand them as they just dont taste right to me warmed up in the microwave. I know if I did enjoy them, it would save me the $7-$8 a day I spend eating lunch out. And when ya really think about that, over the course of a year, I would have saved enough for a kick-ass golf vacation.

That or pop the left over pizza in the regular oven on "broil" just long enough for the cheese to start to sizzle. It will be just right temperature wise
