As well, the fact the economic target market and financial future of the NFL is in hispanic hands makes it a first approach to this part of the U.S.

Yeah yeah, I get it. But come on, if I go to Mexico City on vacation I wouldn't expect to see commercials in English.

And I know, the USA doesn't have an official language, an over sight that needs to be corrected IMHO.

You move here, learn English, speak what ever you want in your own house, but in public, English please!

We are a Christian country, don't like it, leave!!! You don't have to agree, but don't expect us to agree with your views either.

Nobody made you come here, don't expect us to change because you did.

Well, you wouldn't expect to see commercials in English in Mexico City, because the amount of English-Only Speaking population there is very very low. In contrast, the availability of Spanish speakers in Florida for a Miami Dolphins spanish speaking people owned team is big enough to use a different language as a way of reaching their target.

If you go to Sydney, Australia, you'll see huge amounts of adds everywhere in any possible language. Instead of consternating about that, I find it to be a great cultural experience, and the possibility to learn about different cultures and different people, while not moving from my home place. Something which is inevitable in a globalized internet base world now a days.

Maybe you should use this opportunity to learn some Spanish and get to know a little about a different culture which is becoming more and more part of the U.S. every day, and follow Obama's proposition on the cultural interchange.

I can count the things of Obama's that i'll follow on my fingers... while making fists. Being all worldly & shit would be great if everyone else would participate. I would take a gander to say that english is our official language being as our money, laws, and well... everything here is in english. Even our constitution. Just learn it. That way you can go get your license, go to work, go shopping, and yes.... watch football and understand what the hell people are saying to you. I wouldn't up and move to Germany not knowing a lick and expect to get along there.

While I have no idea what you just said, I actually do intend on studying Spanish. Not because I have a burning desire to, but sadly because I know I have to, to pursue the field of Human Resources that I am studying at the present. Do I think its right that I need to learn a foreign language to be able to perform my future job. Not no, but h@ll no!!!!!! Am I willing to do it, obviously!

As I said before, I have no problem what-so-ever in immigrants moving here to better themselves. My only problem is when they don't think they need to learn the native language of English, and expect us to learn theirs! This country was built on immigrants, German, Irish, English, ect....., but in the past, they did excerpt the effort to learn English.


And if I have crossed a line of politics, then I understand if the Moderators delete this whole thread.

Completely agree with you here. I think the right way of things is to try to learn the "native" language wherever you go to. I remember how annoying it was to go to Hay's Market to the Chineese Restaurants in Syd and not being able to ask for ANYTHING since the whole Menu was on Cantonese.

I favor the fact the U.S. is trying to "unite" the latinamerican people (its already about 25% of the U.S. population), and I think its great the ads,Obama's speach, and even the referre called the first foul on Spanish as a change due to the conmemoration of the Racial Diversity Day (12th of October) and the end of the Hispanic Legacy Month.

Wonderful idea, but as you do, I expect it NOT TO HAPPEN again on Monday Night Football hehehehehe
