Ain't that the truth. I may have to make a major decision here.

As I mentioned in another thread, I applied for another Federal veterinarian job, as the 60+ hour weeks at the chicken death factory are getting a little old (although the money is very good).

This one would be perfect as it is clinical work and is just on working dogs (sniffers mostly). I have a lot of experience with canine medicine and surgery, and it would be a promotion, probably less hours, but........... it's in friggin El Paso, TX.

Anyhoo, I applied 2 weeks ago, no harm there, right?.

I just found out I qualified and got on the referral list.

Of course, this doesn't mean jack, as they may already have someone selected and may be just going through the motions to make it look good (yes, the Feds have ben known to do these things), or there may be someone else on the list who is a better candidate, but it's a step in the right direction.

The question is...........how friggin pissed is the GF gonna be if I tell her I'm moving 2500 miles away?

It ain't gonna be pretty.

Could save money on Christmas, though.

From what I can remember DaveE telling me about ElPaso, is that there's nothing there. Well, tumbleweeds and a school.

They have nice courses out that way. A positive.

No chance the GF would tag along? Or, could you go and let her decide after some extended visits? Plane tickets would be cheap to the middle of nowhere.

My folks just move to El Paso. It's a shame really, I'll never visit them again. I enjoyed it when they still lived in Palm Springs, CA but there ain't no way I'm dragging the family to El Paso. Good luck, doc, I hope you don't get it!

I would guess that El Paso could be okay. I mean I literally live in a city that made Forbes top 10 list of most impoverished cities in the US and it's not "bad". It's poor but not unbearable.
