Look online you may have to manually open a port on the router for the xbox.....i forget what port the xbox runs on though...a quick google search would turn that up pretty easily...

Thanks Clark, will certainly give that a try. Is that like a MAC address thing or will it be called a port?

It will be called a port. You may want to manually allow the mac address from the xbox to access your router too...

There should be a place once you access your router to open ports, once you know which port the xbox is trying to use, you can open that port..

Just wondering have you run the network test on the xbox? Can the xbox see the router and just not get to the internet or can it not even connect to the router?

Just did a quick search on the port thing and by the look of it you only need to worry about that if you have an NAT problem, so probably not that.

It fails on the first thing in the network test (can't remember what that is) and can display about three different error messages if I keep re-running the test. I'm no genius with networking but I can usually work my way around things, but this bugger has me stumped!

I just don't get into the midnight release crap. I have a day job, and simply staying up to buy the game and then to have it sit there while I force myself to sleep, doesn't sound appealing.

There were 10 people in line when i got there at 11 so it was hardly a time consuming event. Thankfully my day job only requires 10 hrs of my day/night or I might be in your shoes.

About half way through the campaign on Veteran(i'm glad i'm doing this on veteran the first time though this time)

Wow, even though its a video game, watching the Russian paratroopers coming down on American soil really caught me off guard.

The mission that was supposed to be very controversial, eh, kinda, but it didn't really bother me and i think it was important to have in the game....good thing they allow people to skip it though, i could see where it would be extremely disturbing to some people but all in all, it really is just a game.

This is by far and away the best single player COD yet and i haven't even finished it yet.

Yeah, I agree. It's pretty tough too!

The controversial part, like you said, was ehhhh. I didn't mind it, nor did I care enough to be moved by it. Infact, I just follow the guys around mainly and watched.

I finished the campaign this morning after I got off work. Very good game, I'm not gonna spoil anything. But none the less it was fun.

Do you have a modded Xbox? if not, you still need to have the game disc in teh drive to be able to play it off the hard drive.

I download all my heavily played games to the hard drive as its supposed to run cooler and isn't as hard on the disc drive.

Anyway, I beat the campaign on Wed on Veteran, since it was Veterans Day, I had it off.
