    The Cougar LIVES AGAIN!

lol....i almost felt like ezra, and no, sorry, this isn't about jeff's mother

So like three weeks ago i'm driving to work in he POS when i notice the temp gauge wasn't moving at all...weird...and then it wen't from dead cold to wicked ****ing hot(not over heating but hotter than it should be) so i tossed it in neutral and pulled over to let it cool off. Figured the thermostat was stuck..whacked the housing a couple times, no luck...took her home, took the other car to work.

Grab a thermostat on the way home, change it, leaks....like pouring the **** out of the housing leaking...weird

Buddy helping me gets some RTV sealant, so we put it in again, still leaks..wtmf

Figured out that we were putting the thermostat in upside down, bleeder valve is supposed to go at 12o'clock, not 6. However, by this time the paper gasket was FUBARed and the last time we put it in, it still leaked. Off to the parts shop....they don't have the paper gaskets, all they have are the 'premium' plastic gaskets which are really nice, but cost 3x what the thermostat cost...whatever, i need this thing fixed...

That gasket goes in, works great

Drive the car to work the next day, hit the grocery store and i parked so the front of the car was down-hill. Come out, theres a bunch of coolant on the ground....like running down the hill..

Get it home, its leaking alright, from the mother****ing weep-hole on the water pump....**** me....

Grab a water pump and ask my buddy with a propane heater to help me...because it was like 0ºF outside and my garage is ****ing cold..

Get the water pump in and realize i need a new serpentine belt.....lmao...car sits still till i get a new serpentine belt and over flow hose that i cut to make a drain hose to drain the radiator to change the ****ing water pump...

Good news is, the beast runs like a top. I still can't complain, even thus far i only have about $3k total in the car(including purchase price) for a total of about 70k miles driven on it....not a bad deal...

Also changed the brake pads on the Tiburon while i was in the car fixing mood...one sounded like the clip was dragging, turns out there was just a pebble that got caught between the rotor and the caliper causing the dragging sound....said **** it, might as well change them anyway.

Sounds like a fun week. Don't feel like the Lone Stranger, my truck needs a fuel pump. Whose brilliant idea was it to mount the fuel pump in the gas tank? Truck has 3/4's of a tank of gas in it. No problem, I'll syphone it out, wrong! There is a screen in there to keep thiefs from stealing your gas. Now I've got to pull the bed off to get to the top of the fuel tank to access the fuel pump. Fun fun!!!!!

Yeah, i had to take 5 bolts out of the fan, you can't get even a low profile 1/4" drive adn socket on them, so i had to use a wrench...that took forever especially since the fan shroud won't come off without the fan being disconnected....Grrrr i really need to buy a set of those ratcheting wrenches.

The best part of all of this was the fact that all of the bolts/studs and nuts on the water pump came off great except for two, and they weren't budging...not even with half a can of skunk piss and heat...finally got sick of ****ing with them and just busted them off. Got one of the two out using more skunk piss and a pair of vice grips, but had to borrow a set of stud removers to get the other one out.

Fuel pumps in the fuel tank, yeah, those are a pisser. The guy that helped me with my car, his F150 is going to need a fuel pump soon too...lol hes not happy but i'm sure i'll be helping him unless he takes it to a shop.

I'm in a battle with the little lady right now actually....

I want to bring all the games my father gave to me home and put them in our basement. She thinks they look 'junky' and will make the basement look bad. We have had words about it a couple times now...i might have to do some more 'convincing' tonight...

What kind of games are we talking about?

Find a weakspot she has and use it against her! But a proactive thing, not like,"Yeah, well, you look like a horse in the morning." More like, "See, if I do this it'll actually benefit us in this way, and it would mean a lot to me honey."

    No, thats the problem...lol...

I told her i was bringing the pool table home...she was ok with that...theni added in one of the Pinball tables...and she was kinda annoyed...then i added the other pinballl table, the slot machines and the horse racing game...and then we had words..lol

I'm bringing them home...no doubt about it. Not trying to be a hard ass, but they are the games my father gave me, and they will be with me.
