Any online poker players here at Shottalk? I play at Pokerstars and used to play daily until I stumbled onto this site. Thought it might be fun if some of you guys would want to set up a time and table sometime and get a game going together. At atleast we would have something in common to chat about.

I rarely play for real money online myself. My wife seems to think that I spend to much time online already, but damn, I've got 4 months to wait until I can get back on the courses.

I play for free during the day on 888 and then for money in the evening usually on partypoker but occassionally on William Hill or Paradise Poker. When I'm not doing that I usually host a poker night for a select few (and by that I mean people I know I can beat)

Play some...usually at PartyPoker but not in a while.

Started playing the APL (Amateur Poker League, it's nationwide and FREE!) at a local hangout a couple months ago, seems OK but a little disorganized. Like playing in-person more than on the net.

I didn't know this existed. Where do you play it? There is a lot of news about online poker at the moment over here, and they keep going on about how it is illegal in most of the USA but the sites get round this by being based in places like Gibraltar.

How do they make their money? No buy ins or annual fees etc. This has seriously got me thinking about starting a similar league over here in England. As the law is different I could charge for whatever I wanted.

EnglishGolfer....The establishment owners (bar, restaurant, whatever) pay to have them there. They bring in people on what might otherwise be a slow night so they charge the owners X amount per night. I'm not sure how much it is, probably only enough to pay the person running it for a few hours work (usually about 5 hours) plus a small profit for the corp. P_102
