That's one of the risks of being a TV anchor...your errors are seen instantly.

You could tell the guy really felt like an idiot...

That was a hoot.

In vet school, students have to learn to treat horses and cows as well as dogs and cats. Many students have never seen a live cow, much less touched one.

Most dairy cows are quite tame. Most bulls are anything but tame. And the bulls are large, very large. They are capable, eager even, to squash you like a bug. Did I mention some of them are large? As in SUV sized.

One enterprizing young student, upon being told "her" bull patient needed his temperature taken twice daily, would stand beside his pen until he dropped a steaming pile, then she would rake part of it towards her, and plunge the rectal thermometer into it. She is now a full professor of veterinary ophthalmology.

I am a city boy and have always been one. Grew up in the suburbs and have always lived around them.

I hardly know a farm animal from a barn door.

One of my friends in high school, whose father was a wealthy doctor, decided to become a dairy farmer. He went to University of Tennessee and got a degree in Dairy Science. Bought a dairy farm outside of Louisville KY.

We would go up there and stay with him once a year - either for the Kentucky Derby or the Indy 500. Stay up all hours of the night drinking and partying. It's hard to get in trouble with the cops when you are just plastered on a farm out in the middle of nowhere. For fun, we'd get drunk and drive his tractor all over the place. I smashed down a couple of fences which didn't go over too well with him...

Well anyway, he always told us we were a bunch of city sissies now that he was a farmer - and he was right.

One night after we had drunk copious amounts of beer/whisky - he decided to inseminate a cow. Gets out this HUGE syringe of semen and stands at the rear of the beast....flops up the tail and inserts the entire syringe and his entire forearm into Daisy...

She let out a long moooo of pleasure.

GAWD!! We were all grossed out and ran for the door...

I just had a weird thought when I read this. Anyone else?

Good story though. Glad it wasn't going where I thought it was

I just put my settings back to default and that's what came up. I think it has to do with the number of posts you have. Don't worry little fella, you'll get there someday

Adam,

Go into the user CP and change your title if you'd like.

Or I can do it for you....

(Edit: I just checked, you don't have that ability. Maybe some sweet talk and I can have it arranged...)

Hmm, no comment.

Mods have the ability to change their user titles. Call it a perk.

Perhaps it could be added to the abilities of a Premium Member (if it's already not one...)

Cheers Doc,

It's a slow afternoon, and my new persimmon woods aren't ready yet.

Negatory on the kitty cough syrup, but I do have some ethyl alcohol left over from the last antifreeze patient. Damn! No mixer!
