Interesting places to take a girl

this will sound weak, but I once took a girl on a date and we went shopping. Just to the mall, nothing special. All casual. I had her help me pick out a sweater and a pair of jeans. She bought some shirts in another store. Then we went for nice dinner. She loved the idea.

Then we dated for 4 years. It seemed to have worked. And if it hadn't, I would have had all my shopping done.

Jazz Festival Concert, I took a girl out on a first date to one and although I had no idea who any of the guys were at the time, it gave the appearance that I was much more cultured than my music collection would have. I have been to a lot of concerts and few of them I have actually taken girls to, instead of hooking up with whatever was at the show, but for a date the Jazz Concert won hands down, then we went out to a low key bistro style place and I ordered wine, as opposed to my typical Rum and Coke. As far as wines go, I have found a couple I like, Sauvignon Blanc is a group of wines I like, but experiment with wines first. Find a type of wine you like so you can order with confidence.

After being married now 18 years our favorite date is a round of golf, followed by going to a bar or home afterwards to catch a football, hockey or College Basketball (yeah, x that one out for the rest of the year) and beer, wings and ribs. She keeps saying that Hooters is supposed to have good wings and would like to go, but we don't have one in our area.

I have a hard time beleiving that. If it's true, you've got a good one on your hands there, Hawk.

I have brought the wife to Hooters a few times, she likes the food.

And this one time, at Hooters........

The wife went off to the little girls room before lunch arrived and came back with a wierd look on her face. I asked her what was wrong, and she started complaining that when she got out of the stall to wash her hands she was surrounded by a gaggle of Hooters chicks changing for shift change. She was kind of put off by the experience.

After taking a few more sips of beer, I look at her and say, "Do you know how much most men would pay to have the same experience? Next time bring a video camera and we can make some real money!" It got a good laugh out of her and we enjoyed our lunch. Since moving down to Florida, we have not visited a Hooters (together that is) as there is such a large variety of restaurants to choose from.

Take her out to eat somewhere that has a live jazz or blues band.

When I was in Minneapolis last year my wife and I went to Famous Daves. They have some of the best BBQ you'll ever find and it also had live jazz/blues. It was probaby the best part of our stay. Not all of Famous Daves have the live music though.

I bet you will have a good time. I'm only 22... and I'm more of a Dave Matthews, Metallica, Godsmack, Linkin park kind of guy... but the symphony is cool. Take her to a nice dinner before or afterwards depending on the show time.

She'll be impressed forever. I promise.

It is very true, I think it is a matter of realizing on both of our sides that there is no real threat that the Hooters girls would have any real interest in what I have turned into in the last 18 years. No reason to rule out good wings and food for the sake of unreasonable ideas.

She does in fact hate shopping as well. Last time we went into a Toy's R' US around Christmas time to shop for our Neices and Nephews, she made the comment that they really shouldn't allow kids in stores like that. We were on the Golf course this last weekend in 30 degree weather and 20mph winds with no arm twisting.

She doesn't believe in wasting money for things like Valentines Day, and even Anniversary's. A nice meal and a nice bottle of wine is pretty much it, and save the other money for Golf Vacations and the sort. Playing Golf in Sedona for Thanksgiving and Orlando in February instead of Jewelry and such.
