The Sand Pebbles
Steve mcqueen and candice bergan in their youthful finest in a movie that dares to discuss personal choice in most dire of situations First rate!

Clerks Loads of laughs

Last Temptation of Christ- thought inspiring even for an agnostic like me

the African Queen Great acting by two of the finest

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest AHHH juicy fruit

EDIT: might add Gladiator

A man of good taste Vt. However I would replace SW with LoTRs. Here's some others:

Genre - American Beauty
Plot - Seven
Horror - The Shining or Silence of the Lambs
History (Hollywood style anyway) - Braveheart
Drama - The Green Mile
Animation - Shrek or The Incredibles
Road movie - Rain Man
War - Saving Private Ryan or Apocoloyse Now
Random scene - The Matrix - Gunflight scene in the lobby had me in hysterics!

OK, how about 5 movies I can watch over and over, at any time? So maybe not the best, but the most mindless, fluffy, and entertaining.

Empire Strikes Back (I do buy into this one, VT. I've probably seen it 50 times. Hell, I saw it 5 times in the theater when it was released....)

Major League (Great pick, Rock. Hey Rook, what happened to your head? Veg-A-Matic?)

Silverado (You're wearing my hat....)

American Flyers (Cycling flick circa 1984 by John Badham. "I have a dual major, Eastern Philosophy and Cowboy movies. The Yin, the Yang, and the Bang Bang!)

A Knight's Tale (I'm a writer. I give the truth SCOPE!)

and of course, the famous teaser that never made the movie (until one of sequels)

"That ball wouldn't have been out of most parks."

"Oh yah? Name one."

"Yellowstone"

and another one of my favorites.

"Coming in to pitch is Rick Vaughn. Vaughn is a juvenile delinquint in the off season."
