EG I figured there were a couple more than were using Dave in their screename for exactly that reason.

As I said, I'm a Dave

My golfing mate is Dave, my pairing in the society for the last two events has been a Dave. This all for the best because I'm terrible with names.

I haven't quite added to the problem but my son's middle name is also David.

I'm not a Dave, nor a am I a John, James. Bob, etc. I'm a Steve. I have been all my life, and unless the IRS comes after me & I become something else, I will continue to be a Steve be until I achieve room temperature.

There are definitely more than 4 though
So far the poll says 4, that is much lower than the real number. Apparently there are several shy Dave's on the board or the forum is shy quite a few Dave's I thought were out there.

Yes I am, and I'm pretty sure I'm also the original one here.

In high school I was on a 5 man cross country team and 3 of us were named Dave. The name is way overused.

I prefer Dave to anything else, I have had my son's friends calling me that since they were 5 and 6 years old. At the grocery store when they read my check and say "Thank you for shopping here Mr. Budlong", I always correct it to Dave, most of the regulars know to call me by that. It's great just being Dave no matter where I am.

It's a name given to me from the Witness Protection Program ...... that and my new gender .. was previously a street walker named Dolores ... I got to know a few big guys ......
