Thread: NO GOLF FOR ME :(

  1. NO GOLF FOR ME :(

Well boyzzzzzzzzz, there'll be no golfing for me for sometime to come. Had a mild heart attack on Mother's day, which lead me down the road to a 4 hour sleep on the OR Table for a double by pass operation on May 23. Home to rest on May 28. However I have been advised I might not be able to fully swing a club until sometime in Late August. Bummer. Oh well at least I am alive and I can come and read all the BS Golf stories on here . I will be able to putt and chip in a week or 2. So I am going to have a better short game I hope

Not looking for any sysmpathy either! Twas my way of life that cuased some of my problems so I have no one to blame by myself.

So keep stroking and let me know how you games are this summer.

  2. Man! Sorry to hear about the attack! Glad you survived it. I lost my brother-in-law when he was 42. Now you have the motivation and opportunity to make some lifestyle changes that'll keep you around awhile.

Usually after a mild heart attack, the main therapy is walk, walk, walk. Where's a better place than a golf course?!

Good luck and get well soon!

Congratulations on becoming a member of the zipper club! I'm sure we'll be glad to keep you apprised of 300 yard drives and 25 foot putts that just couldn't miss.

    Be manic with the rehab....

Was that the day the Sharks lost to the Oilers?

    GO Oil!

Good to hear you're back up and around. My Dad had the same thing happen a few years back. He's right as rain now.

Keep us updated on the progress!

Shot a nice 70 yesterday. 6 birds, a double and two bogeys. Now that's consistency!

Good to hear you're ok now though.

FWIW a guy I know had that done a couple of years ago and says he feels better now than he has for the last ten years. I guess it's good to the pipes cleaned.

Do what the docs say and you'll be back before you know it.

Nah, I had the attack before the Sharks lost to the Oilers I will now cheer for the Oilers to win the CUP.

I will survive this, becoming a member of the "Zipper Club" was not something I had in mind at age 50 but it happened. Heck the guy who I walk up across from in the ICU was only 35 and had the same double by pass I had.

70, great score. 6 birds is good, the double and boogy will go away. Then you will be -par and a big time shooter!

I fugure my first round back I should be able to shot a round of even par. Should be simple enough, because all I am going to be able to do it putt. So 18 greens, 2 putt them all and that will be even par hahahahahahaha. Somehow I don't think I will be able to get any of the boys to lay some cash on the line that day!

    Diet

My mother in law had a heart attack in January, the Dr put her on a no carbs after lunch diet, I joined her in support of her effort. We have both lost more than 25 lbs. since, she is in the best shape she has ever been in in the 16 years I have known her, and I can finally do 10 pull ups again. The diet is callen "No white at night" and the guy who wrote the book on it is Dr. Gavin, it is available at Amazon.

Try it, from expierience I can say you will be in better shape. The guy who wrote it is my mother in laws cardiologist, and he did it himself and his mother too, before he wrote the book.

  8. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

Get well soon and take care.

  9. It's a really good thing that you're able to tell us about it. I bet you'll be able to hit wedge shots & sharpen up your short game in no time. Not only that, but you'll lose weight & be in good shape ready to shoot scratch golf too.

    Pars & Birdies to you.
It must be awful to have to work for a living.

Heres to you getting better soon.

Golf is a mental game, and when worse comes to worse you can still play in your mind. You'll be back in no time.

  11. Glad to hear you're better. I know several people who've survived heart attacks are doing better than they ever did before.

I'm 47 myself and my lifestyle/diet has me headed in a direction I'm not comfortable with. Stories like yours give me an incentive to listen more closely to my wife. Well, at least about the eating. :emot-ange

Geez, GB...glad to hear you're back in the game.

I'm a lot younger, but was well on my way to same, so I've been working on changing my lifestyle. Not as hard as I'd thought it'd be, in the end. 35 lbs gone, about 25 - 30 more to go. Hell, 23 more would put me some 200. That'd be neat.

Anyhow, not about me...werd to a good life and more golf.
Those aren't credits that roll after Walker Texas Ranger; it is actually a list of people that Chuck Norris roundhouse kicked in the face that day.
