Speaking of my golf game....

Rock likes to break my balls about it but some things have to come first....My oldest son, Tyler, 12 years old, has been accepted into a student ambassador program called "people to people"

Tyler will be traveling to Ireland (2 cities in the south east), Wales, London, Paris and Brussels for 20 days next summer....This is going to cost me huge and put a major crimp in my already sorry game.

Since the program is by invitation only....I'll take the hit with a smile on my face.

Awesome. Giving does feel the best sometimes. I wish I had the chance to that while I was growing up.

Awesome! He's hitting the pellet pretty good too, no? Maybe he'll get on a few greens when he's over there.

Good on ya, Dad.

Adjacent to the castle is Folk Park, a re-created rural village typical of Ireland at the turn of the century. Explore County Clare and the region known as the Burren, a great rocky expanse in Ireland's County Clare Explore limestone caves and see the majestic Cliffs of Moher.

West Coast, Dublin and Wales Day 4-6

For a look atthe history of Irish sports, visit the Gaelic Athletic Association Museum and the famous Croke Park Stadium. Learn about Trinity College and the illuminated manuscripts known as The Book of Kells.

Warwick, Day 7

London, England Days 8 - 9
Head to Buckingham Palace to view the precisely choreographed Changing of the Guard. Explore the must-see Tower of London and cruise the River Thames to see the city’s famous sights. Ride on the London Eye, an astonishing 443-foot-high ride that provides fantastic panoramic views of the city. Experience London’s theater scene by attending a performance of a popular show. Dress to impress for your meeting with a current or former Member of Parliament. A true honor for Student Ambassadors, you’ll explore the British Constitution and discuss the respective roles of the House of Commons, the House of Lords and the Monarch.

UKSA, England Days 10-12

For the next three days, you’ll take a concentrated course on sailing, windsurfing or kayaking. Explore the Admirals Cup Museum and stroll out to Osborne House, the favored seaside retreat of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Spend a reflective moment at the American Cemetery overlooking Omaha Beach, paying your respects to the American soldiers who died in those first heroic days.

Paris, France Days 14-15

Discover one of the most prestigious monuments of the city, the Notre Dame Cathedral, which took two centuries to complete. Sounds like a great gig Bob. He probably needs parental support with him to get him as far as Ireland. Then HE'LL be fine and YOU can bring YOUR sticks. Know what I'm talking about?

Congrats, Sling. My oldest daughter did this twice, once at 11, once at 16. She loved both trips. Got a little homesick at 11, but didn't miss us much at all at 16. Her first trip was the UK swing--England, Ireland, Scotland--then she did a European trip through England, France, Greece, Spain, and Italy.

She's now better traveled than I, and it has definitely given her an international perspective at a very young age.

Be aware that it is a very aggressive schedule; they move pretty fast, it is a ton of walking, and they get little sleep at times. Comfy shoes are key. But the trips are well controlled, and it is an experience that will last him a lifetime.
