Thumbs down WHAT DO CANADIANS HAVE TO BE PROUD OF?

1. Smarties

2. Crispy Crunch, Coffee Crisp

3. The size of our footballs fields and one less down

4. Baseball is Canadian

5. Lacrosse is Canadian

6. Hockey is Canadian

7. Basketball is Canadian

8. Apple pie is Canadian

9. Mr. Dress-up kicks Mr. Rogers' ass

10. Tim Hortons kicks Dunkin' Donuts' ass

11. In the war of 1812, started by America, Canadians pushed the Americans back...past their 'White House'. Then we burned it...and most of Washington, under the command of William Lyon MaKenzie King who was insane and hammered all the time. We got bored because they ran away, so we came home and partied...Go figure...

12. Canada has the largest French population that never surrendered to Germany.

13. We have the largest English population that never ever surrendered or withdrew during any war to anyone. Anywhere. EVER.

14. Our civil war was fought in a bar and it lasted a little over an hour.

15. The only person who was arrested in our civil war was an American mercenary, who slept in and missed the whole thing...but showed up just in time to get caught.

16. We knew plaid was cool far before Seattle caught on.

17. The Hudsons Bay Company once owned over 10% of the earth's surface and is still around as the worlds oldest company.

18. The average dog sled team can kill and devour a full grown human in under 3 minutes.

19. We still know what to do with all the parts of a Buffalo.

20. We don't marry our kin-folk.

21. We invented Ski-Doos, Jet-Skis, velcro, zippers, Insulin, Penicillin, Zambonis, the telephone and short wave radios that save countless lives each year.

22. We ALL have frozen our tongues to something metal and lived to tell about it.

23. A Canadian invented Superman.

24. WE HAVE COLOURED MONEY!

25. Our beer advertisments kick ass.

BUT MOST IMPORTANT!
24. The handles on our beer cases are big enough to fit your hands with mitts on!

25. And we don't bomb our allies.

26. Our elections only take one day.

27. We have our own word! (Eh)

  9. Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled in with snow.
  10. You owe more money on your snowmobile than your car.
  11. The local paper covers national and international headlines on 1/4 page, but requires 6 pages for sports.

  13. The most effective mosquito repellent is a shotgun.
  14. Your snowblower gets stuck on the roof.
  15. You think the start of moose season is a national holiday.
  16. You head south to go to your cottage.
  17. You frequently clean grease off your barbeque so the bears won't prowl on your deck.

  19. The major parish fund-raiser isn't bingo - it's sausage making.
  20. You find -40C a little chilly.
  21. The trunk of your car doubles as a deep freezer.
  22. You attend a formal event in your best clothes, your finest jewelry and your Sorels.

Personally I think we should return the favor and send them Barbara Streisand, and Jane Fonda. Call it a two for one deal

I don't know, if Kid Rock and Tommy Lee both couldn't take it, I'm not sure it is worth the baggage on top of the bigger baggage.

Smarties ? As in the chocolate...?!

For a country that loves food so much, I could not get over how CR@P the American's choice of chocolate is. When I went to a Deli there I got my stuff, but wanted something nice for afters. Very little choice !! Peanut things are fairly pap...and don't get me started on the poor selection of crisps (chips....!!)

Yeah we have crappy chocolate. My brother in law goes home to Milan Italy a couple of times a year and brings back tons of chocolate on his return. The chips thing is pretty wierd in the states, you can get really good chips in some states and some others have crappy ones. It all depends on some of the smaller chip manufacturers and the there distributors send too. If you ever go out to Southern California make sure you eat at In N Out Burger.
