Tiger Woods 2007

I picked this up on my venture through Target. It was $19.99 for the PC/DVD version. Not sure if that is a deal or not, as I now do most of my gaming on handhelds and consoles. But having picked up the Launchpad, I thought I would get it and see how it works on the launchpad. Installing right now.

I like the "Links 2003" still. Lots of new courses out all the time.

No, I just bought Tiger Woods 2007 and some birdseed for the varmints on my back deck. I just saw the inside approach, as I make it a point to look at golf supplies anytime I go somewhere that sells the stuff. The inside approach would serve no real purpose to my swing which is already hopelessly to far to the inside.

I prefer Links as well, likely one of the best golf games I have ever played. Unfortunately on the Launchpad I picked up to swing my clubs in the winter, it doesn't pick up the club path while playing on Links, as that is more of a function you set prior to the swing.

IMO Tiger Woods is more of a toy, where as Links is more of a golf simulator. I haven't had a chance to play around enough on 2007, but what I really liked about Links was being able to plug in your own club distances and play a course just as you would with the same clubs you would use. It really gives you the opportunity to actually practice course management, especially if you play a created course you are used to playing in real life. TW2006 did not allow for this as they are more tied into this career mode where you buy player attributes with experience. I doubt 2007 will allow for it either, but will find out soon enough.

If I were to just play the game with the mouse and not on the Launchpad with my own clubs, there is no doubt Links is the game I would use, and it will remain on my computer. Seeing better graphics and the same player reaction after every shot does nothing for me compared to actual simulation of my own golf game.

I have '06 on the PSP and Xbox, which I like alot. I saw on reviews for '07 on the consoles that it has a feature to aim at a section of the green to make it more realistic. The PC version doesn't have this feature.
