Hi everyone. New to the forum here and it seems like a very cool place to hang out and talk all things golf related.
I'm in my mid-40's and an electronics consultant. I do custom electronic product design for a living mostly medical and industrial electronic products. Being self-employed, I get to golf during the week and leave the weekends to the masses at the area public courses.
I played a
lot of competitive golf in high school and college and had my handicap index down around 3 for a several year stretch then. It's gradually risen to the 13-ish range now but I love the game and want to play as long as my body and mind will let me.
I mostly play just for fun and business outings now but I've made a commitment this year to play a lot more. I'm also helping my best friend and his wife get started in the game. So far, they like it a lot and aren't too bad for beginners!
I'm a tinkerer and build, modify and repair quite a few clubs. I find it relaxing and fun and there's nothing better than beating one of my golf buddies with a set of sticks I made that cost 1/4 of what his did.
I'm not quite a full-fledged club ho yet, but I'm well on my way...
I recognize a few of the members here from another site and reading some of the threads I think this will be a fun place to hang out and talk golf!
