Hi Everyone! My name is Jim, I'm 14 and from Southern New Jersey. I am a very avid and have been playing since I was around 6. No one in my family golfs, so it is kind of awkward that I even play. I saw it on tv though and thought it would be a fun think to try out and have fell in love with the sport ever since. I shoot usually in the upper 70s. Used to be a more mid 80s golfer but have drastically improved over this summer after playing a ton.
My bag is not too pretty though, which comforts me because I know when I get a decent set of equipment I will be doing better. Right now I have a Walmart driver, which is why I never really use it. I pretty much used Hawk eye vft, but it broke ( dont ask how...) . Beings I am headed into high school and going to be playing golf there, my parents are getting me a new set of clubs.( they never got me anything extravagant when I was younger because it "wasn't worth it". ) Right now I am eyeing up the Taylormade Burner driver ever since I tryed someones for a couple shots. The club is amazing in my opinion, but of course I am going to test other things. If anyone can give me some good recommendations that would be great. I like to read reviews, but don't really trust them because it seems that every driver makes everyone drives absolutely straight and adds 50+ yards to each teeshot. Also looking for new irons too. The Tm r7s, callaway X-20s, and Ping Raptures all seemed good, if I can get some feedback on those too that would be great.
Anyway, New Jersey golf courses are ok if anyone wanted to know. I've played literally them all and nothing to amazing that jumped out and said "Wow". Favorite course here was Blue Heron Pines East Course but naturally they tore that down and built homes on the property. So if you go to New Jersey, unfortunately , do not have high expectations.
