hello

Hello all

Firstly let me introduce my self my name is Steve and I live in surrey, England
I allways thought of golf as an old mans game and a stupid one at that
But got to know some one who played and after a couple of rounds I am now hooked
I have been playing for about 8 months now so still quite new have a cheap set of clubs so am going to upgrade to??? Don’t know yet keep getting told different ones so I suppose I will have to get down the golf shop and see what they say
The concept of golf is very simple on paper but so dame hard to put in to practices lol
Well hope I can pick the brains of some of you better golfers on regards to clubs/balls

Talk to you all soon

Welcome to Shottalk, I'm sure we can help suggest what clubs to buy, between everyone on here we must have tried most of them.
Where abouts in Surrey do you play?
And what type of scores are you shooting?

Welcome aboard.

I am sure you will find plenty of opinions of equipment on shottalk. Check out the equipment section and the review section for the latest opinions on the latest gear.

Please feel free to ask questions. There are several members of the board that are quite knowledgable and would be more than willing to help you out with any question you may have.

Buy used, Ebay or other. Your swing and likes are going to be changing a lot. I wouldn't spend a lot of money on clubs until your swing is grooved and that can take years.

I live in Reigate so play mainly around there I am quite fortunate that I have
5 or six places with in 20min drive from me some of the ones I have played are

Redhill and Reigate
Reigate hill
Reigate common
Godstone 9

There is still a few to try
I also have a driving range 5 min from my home that’s where I go mainly

As for how many shots I take well I am new and do usually go down the driving range
So I can drive a ball 270 yards but that’s it my short game is useless and I mean useless but I will get there eventually
