Jinny is on a distinguished road
Hello~

I played some at my high school, at the end of my senior season, moved away, going to college, etc, but now I'm dying to get back into it. I'm going to go play my first round in two and a half years with my dad tomorrow (spring break, yaaaaaaaaaay), so, hopefully I won't crash and burn too hard. Probably will. Oh well. Haha.

I joined because there isn't enough golf going on at UW, aside from the official girls' and guys' teams and I feel like I'm going to explode if I don't get some small dosages of people talking about it. Apparently it's not "cool" enough for my friends, haha. So hi. I'll be the one lurking and not posting most of the time because I'm not even remotely good enough to talk. Nice to meet you.

ps This is a ridiculous question, and because it's so stupid, I figured it wouldn't be that well received in the main forum from a total new person...err, I don't take my car up to school because parking in Seattle is murder, and I was wondering...anyone have any experience in carrying a golf bag on public transportation? D: I don't really care about the weird looks, I was just really wondering if anyone knew if I'd get kicked out or not allowed on...that would blow. There wasn't exactly a "Can I bring my golf clubs?" section to our bus sites FAQ. How completely irresponsible; I'm sure that that's like the #1 question they get all day, every day. Definitely. =/

Welcome aboard Jinny!

Don't be shy, being 'good enough' is NOT a prerequisite for posting.
If you have something to say, say it.

As for taking clubs on the bus (or whatever) don't be shy about that either.

Trust me, being "good enough" means nothing. Witness my large post count, and my equally large handicap.

Good question about the golf bag. I suppose if I was a bus driver, I would want to make sure you didn't have a shotgun in there. Your best bet is to call the Transit Authority and ask for a set of regulations. Carry the regs in the bag.

And welcome to Shottalk. Don't lurk - SPEAK!

Maybe your daddy can drive you up to college, it maybe too risky to take it on public.

Where you trying to be asinine, or did it just come off that way naturally.

I guess if that is what you would consider a legitimate answer to the question, likely an adequate response to your thread about the right club for someone 5'9" and 162 would be to either grow a few inches or maybe hang from a rope a couple hours a day and eventually you may be able to use real clubs.

Welcome to Shot Talk, as far as the clubs on the bus, seeing as how most of the luggage goes under the seating area, I'm sure for a fee they would carry them. They might make you open the bag and inspect them most likely though.

Welcome, how do you like it at UW? Im from Vancouver BC and know two of the guys that are playing on the golf team there. I wish i was good enough to play there and be a little closer to home.

I dont think public transportation has any problems with golf clubs, so long as you dont take practise swings in the bus.

Something that may also be a consideration, you may look into a travel case, probably of the lightweight softside variety. This would give you a set of wheels that is easy to maneuver, plus a little added protection for your clubs. They are pretty nice to have for the airport, I would imagine it would be as useful on a bus. Although make sure it is O.K. to take them on the bus prior to spending the money.

This would also give a later option if you start to travel.

I personally would recommend a Club Glove burstproof, which is the brand many pro's use. But they may be a little more than what you want to spend.
ClubGlove.com

You can probably find them a little cheaper retail on the older model that I have, and still has the warranties as well as the wheels. Although for the price, you also likely want to consider if you have a safe place to keep the bag when you are playing.

Haha, I dunno, I hacked up a pretty frightening round today. .__. You guys might retract that whole "No, it's ok if you suck" thing.

I think the idea of calling the metro department is probably a good one; I'm betting it SHOULD be doable, as long as I don't hit anyone with the clubs or take up too much room. D: And I think my uncle had a travel case...I'll ask him about it sometime in the future, but I'm pretty sure that's way too much for my tiny student paycheck ;__;

UW is nice, and the tuition for in-state isn't exactly bad, compared to the out of state schools. The buildings are gorgeous, and I personally really like the school, but I have nothing else to compare it to, so I guess I can't really give a very accurate assessment.

I'm a girl. I'm sorry if my name was too ambiguous, haha. Most people just assume that what they're seeing is a typo, and refer to me as "Jimmy" in all paperwork until they meet me.

OK guys, keep it nice, we have a lady in our presence. And trust me, if you have any doubts your welcome here regardless of your abilities, just look up the thread, "My 2nd Tournament", I seriously doubt you played any worse than I did,
