Tee'ing off in NY
i'm a 19 year old student in western NY getting back into golf. i used to go with my dad when i was younger but ended up getting into baseball instead. Now that high school is over i figured i need to do something to keep myself busy/active. I currently have my dads set of 3-PW dunlop wedges, putter, top flite driver, and some 17* fairway driving iron. I'm looking into buying new equipment but have no idea what to buy. I'll be searching and asking questions about alot of stuff so please chime in.

Welcome to Shot Talk Matt.

As far as new equipment, your best bet would be find a Golf Shop with a Demo day and hit as many clubs as you can till you find what suits your eye and swing. Then click on Pro Shop on here at the top and go to Global golf and buy them used if you can.

Rochester area.

i have hit some drivers and was recommended a 9.5* loft with a stiff shaft. the guy handed me a nike sumo and it felt good, i would like to try some callaway drivers. i've heard talk of "lob wedges" and "gap wedges". i'm a little confused on loft angles with wedges and what is good to use. my shots are erratic and am having trouble finding how far i hit each club.
