Thread: Waiting for a tee time...

  1. Cool Waiting for a tee time...

Floridian been golfing 3 1/2 years now stationed in Maine witht he US Navy. Waiting for the green grass to show up so I can work on getting to single digit handicap before I return south. Got the bug pretty bad, and have the golf channel on daily and putt in my living room while watching tv. Does anyone out there have all the answers?

  2. Re: Waiting for a tee time...

I live in the Colorado Rockies and have to contend with snow. To play during the winter I have to drive 97 miles. I do go to the local course during winter, but greens are closed. I still beat the ball up and down the fairways. The driving range is open year round.

Our course should open in around 2 weeks.

I putt in the house and even sent so far as to purchase Tiger Woods 09 for the wii.

  3. Re: Waiting for a tee time...

The easiest thing to do in the off season is to work on the basics. First your grip, grip and regrip the club until you get blisters from repeating the motion. Then work on alignment. Work on setting your club face and feet so that you are pointing in the correct direction. Do this over and over so that when it comes time for your season to begin you are ready, and it is second nature again. Finally work on your putting. Any carpet will do, make it so that when you step over a 6 footer you are already giving it to yourself come the start of the season. These are the three things I have found you can do in the off season to get your game into the best possible shape with out having to leave your house. Hope this helps.

  4. Thumbs up Re: Waiting for a tee time...

Guys, thaks for the feedback! One thing I've been able to do is work with the local PGA Pro at Dick's sporting goods in our area, use their indoor demo range and he's heped me with my alignment and takeaway. Now I just can't wait to get out n some green grass...:smilie_cl:smilie_tm:miz::smilie_ti:callaw ay:

I think a lot of us are itching to get out there and play, I was at the range on Thursday and saw they had the sprinklers on. People are playing but course is brown, won't be long now!
