I'm a beginner golfer from northeast PA...was drawn to this site to ask some club related questions as I have yet to purchase my own. I'm pretty lucky, as there's a ton of golf courses around here ranging in difficulty, and there's a few cheap and forgiving courses that are great for me to hone my game. Hopefully I can pick up some useful tips and get some answers to all of my questions.

Welcome aboard!!! There are a growing contingent of people around here that I have seen from at least the Eastern part of PA. My wife and I spent about the last 6 years up in Northeast PA in the Poconos, and the prior 11 or so in the Southeast corner, so if you have any questions about courses or places to find supplies and equipment, ask away. We have become familiar with a large number of the courses along the eastern parts of PA As far as the later, while they have alot of great courses up in the Poconos, you have to usually travel a bit to demo equipment.

Yeah, I'm actually shocked at the number of courses around here. The closest course I've been to (not golfed at, however) to the Poconos was Eagle Rock, which looks amazing.

The local course that I frequent isn't the nicest, but it's pretty easy:

Windsor Heights Golf Course & Restaurant - Bloomsburg, PA

It's a Par 65 and my low score so far is 113, so you can sorta get an idea of where I'm at skill wise. Starting golf at 19 is not easy.
