Thread: Hi from Sweden

  1. Hi from Sweden

Just to introduce myself, a registered golf abuser from the South of Sweden. Golf has already cost me one marriage, I'm aiming for a three peat.

Welcome!! The "south of Sweden" is beautiful country! Was blessed to have the opportunity to visit there a few years ago. One of the towns, I believe, was Lindos. We were allowed to spend some time touring the factories of Orefors, Cosa Boda, etc. Sent some beautiful crystal home to the wife. But, if I remember correctly, the trees were extremely tall. Seemed like you were driving through ancient forests. Do the courses you play have those tall pines lining the fairways??
Blessed to have a bag full of trustworthy friends who have provided this old man with hundreds of hours enjoying the great game of golf.

Unfortunately, yes! If there was only tall pines you'd have a shot at getting out, but there are also a fair amount of birches, elms and oaks, all with low branches reaching out to grab any ball that comes their way. Don't ever believe the myth about a tree being 90 % air. It does however teach you the premium of hitting fairways from the tee, even if you are forced to sacrifice some distance. Down here we are however fortunate enough to have a few links and sea-side courses around the coastline. So when the frustration of walking in the woods becomes overwhelming all I need is a 40 minute drive.

Honey, you're my #1 and golf is #2, you want to remain #1? Don't mess with #2! She didn't heed the advice.
