Hi!

Thought best to introduce myself. I'm extremely new to golf (I've been having lessons for a couple of weeks), but already I'm competely hooked on it

I'm hoping to be let out on the course fairly soon, which is when I guess all the fun starts.

So, any hints, tips or even just funnies would be more than welcome. At the moment I don't know any golfers, But I'm hoping that will change soon!

Honey

For the most part, you will meet nice people both at the range and on the tee box.

I have only been playing a little over a year. For us beginners, I think it's important not to expect too much from ourselves. We will hit many bad shots, and the most important thing to do is to not hurt anyone.

That said, yesterday I put a tee shot on a par 3 into the next tee box that was to the right of the green. I yelled FORE! but I still got some evil looks for a while. It was a really bad, thinned, fading 7 iron.

I would suggest making your first trip to the course NOT on a weekend, and maybe play only 9 holes. It would be great if your teacher could go along with you.

My final lesson will be playing a round. I'm not able to go out until I've had a full round assessed! I'm looking forward to it

Great! Now the next thing you need to do is post a video of your swing, so we can make fun of you.

Thanks! Now, where's the best place to post for occasional partners to help a beginner improve?

Eyes on the ball , dont move your eyes off the ball til you have hit it.

That was the first thing I always seemed to do wrong

My dad told me about a trick for teeing off. When U are about 2 tee off look at the side of the fairway you don't want to hit to and then tee up on that side. When u hit u should not be on that side, but the other side or better yet in the middle of the fairway.
