What a great site. I've been lurking for a few days and am impressed about how courteous folks are to one another around here, so I decided to join. It must be the love of a great game that bonds everyone together.

I've been playing about 35 years. I currently play to about a 5. I tend to get away from the game from time to time due to other commitments, but when I get "the bug," I can't get enough of it.

I'm an attorney, specializing in civil litigation, mostly for businesses. As a result, my golf comes in fits and spurts, which is not really good for playing consistently. The beautiful thing about So. Cal, though, is that you can play year round, so you don't even really have to worry about missing the "season."

I understand. I hate myself when my index is sitting in the 5 range, and I haven't played for two months, and then I end up in some tournament with some client or in a betting game with friends who I haven't seen for awhile and I get stuck and have to play to my 5, and there is virtually no chance that is going to happen.
