standing up to be counted...

Hey gang,

I'm Rob, a 30yr old married father of two (boy-10yrs, girl-5mos). I picked up the game for the first time when I was 25. I played for a year or so, got frustrated and walked away. I started playing again at the end of '03. I don't play nearly as much as I'd like but I practice often (I don't want to completely suck when I get to play). My lowest round is an 84. I work full time for a software company in Mtn View, CA and am a junior as San Jose State University (chem major) after serving eight years in US Navy (submarine fleet).

When it comes to my bag I'm definitely not in denial about my abilities and have fully embraced the Adams Golf game improvement offerings:

Adams Tight Lies GT 363 Driver (10*)
Adams Tight Lies GT 4W (17*)
Adams Idea hybrid 3 & 4 (17* & 21*)
Adams Idea 5-PW
Adams Tom Watson GW (52*)
Alien3 SW (have no idea about the loft but I have a ton of confidence in bunkers and thick grass with this club)
Odyssey White Hot #7

I look forward to getting more involved in board discussions!

-Rob

My Turn...

OK,

I'm almost 29 and have been playing for about 9 years, but only seriously for the last 5ish.

I live in Melbourne, Australia, with my wife and cocker spaniel.

When I was last a member of a club my handicap was 11, but it would be closer to 14 at the moment. My lowest round is a 4 over 77.

I play almost every weekend and you can find me at the range 2 or 3 nights a week.

Other than my clubs, I have 3 prized golfing possessions: signed and framed magazine covers of Adam Scott, Peter Lonard and Ernie Els.

In my bag:

TM R580 9.5 with Aldila NV S75
Wilson 3-wood 15 degrees
TM Rescue Mid 19 with stiff steel
3 - PW RAC MB with DGS-300
54 & 60 RAC wedges
Odyssey Mallet Putter centre-shafted

cheers!

G

Irish here. My name is Mark, I'm married to Christine and have 2 boys, Pearse (5) and Seamus (2). I live in Portstewart, a beautiful seaside town on the North coast of Ireland. I work in Marketing for a Hi Tech company in Belfast, which means I have a daily commute of 120 miles. I like my job, just hate the commute.

I have been playing golf for over 25 years and I was one quite hot, playing for the Irish colleges team. I now play off 5 around Portstewart. This is a wonderful club with 3 x 18 holes courses. My swing is posted here somewhere on the Forum. I think I am a quite good ball striker. Just my pitching, chipping and putting let me down at times. My goal is to get my h/c down to 4 this year and win a few tournaments. However I only play once a week and have little time to practice. (Hopefully that will change during the summer as the nights grow longer) so I am not sure how realistic that is. I firmly believe that 90% of golf is between the ears and the other 10% is between the ears.

I have a bunch of clubs, the most recently acquired are a Sonartec ss-03 and Sonartec MD Hybrid - 19 degree. Too early for proper feedback on these babies.

I love playing golf and am as happy playing with hackers as I am with scratch players. I also think the Forum is great, a good mix of international personalities and standards. I have played The Master last year and hope to get a rematch again soon. I have also played with LBC Golfer in California (my job takes me round the world) and hope to play Slingblade in April this year (at Yale!!!). My record speaks for itself.

I have to hand it to you Mark, you lead a very busy life, with work, transportation, and above all family. Yet you still have time to play some golf. Kudos

I generally try not to pick on your spelling too much, but this one really cracked me up. Thaks for the laugh, everyone in the law library is looking at me like I'm crazy.

Sean here
Im 32 and live in New York (That place where right when you shoot low it begins to snow). I have been playing since my teens but only began to play regularly within the past 3 years. Depending on the course I shoot in the 80s to low 90s with the rare low 80 thrown in that keeps me coming back.

You've got some really nice course in NY Rockland.
Last time I went, I wanted to go to Bethpage Black, but it seems you need to camp in the morning for non-residents of NYC. But getting a tee time in Blue is much easier.

As long as we are here......I am the true Master.

I am 43, I have been playing accidental golf for better then 20 years, I got serious last year.

I put this site together last August and enjoy working on it. I've been doing web stuff as a hobby for about 6 years.

I have 3 kids, Tyler (11), Jeffrey (9) and Ashleigh (4).

There is a pic of me in the gallery somewhere....I'll take another and put it up tomorrow......I have all my hair and none of it is grey.

Just joined

I'm Scott and I'm 32. I started playing in Jr. High and have been hooked ever since. I have two children a 2 and 4 year old so I golf about twice a month. Luckily my wife started last summer and loved it so I think we will play more this summer. We have had an unbelievably warm weather in Portland and today will hit 65 degrees again. My #1 hobby is playing the drums which I've done since about 7 years old. I play clone Callaway irons and clone TM V-Steel fairway woods. I'm looking for a new driver so any recomendations will help.

Thumbs up Introduction

Hello everyone. I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and love golf although I don't have enough time to golf with 3 boys 15, 12, 10 involved in every sporting activity under the sun.

I attended the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando a few weeks ago and was in awe of the magnitude of this show. If you ever get the chance to attend....go. I have developed a golf side game which can be played on the golf course. I have two versions, one for regular golf and one for texas scramble tournaments. I will be launching a texas holdem version in April or May.

While at the show I fell in love...with a Hammy putter. Natalie Gulbis was at their display(check my photo) and she convinced me to try it. As a hockey player, it was a natural fit. I sank 3 in a row from 15 feet, so I made a deal with the CEO of Hammy putter to send me 2 lefties and 2 righties in return for 50 of my customized game sets with their logo on it. I got them 2 days ago and I already have 3 people who have asked how much and where can they get them. If you are ever in a pro shop check them out.
