Waddo is on a distinguished road
Hello Golfers

for that is what I am (now).

Hi everyone, the name's Waddo. I've been 'playing' (borrowing clubs, only going because my mates were etc) on and off for about 2 years, and accidentally fell into it. I was on holiday with some mates, who played, and after a few days watching them from the hotel balcony, I thought I may as well drive the buggy for them. Then I thought I may as well just swing a few clubs. Then I thought I would actually borrow some clubs and go out with them.

Then I got back and mentioned this to my brother in law, and then he insisted I come out with him. This kept happening and eventually I had to stop fighting it and say to myself 'I am a golfer'. I've been playing regularly for about 3 months now, and looking forward to my first full spring/summer 'season'.

I'm still at the stage where I don't care what I card as long as I hit at least 1 drive, hard, long and straight per 18. I'm sure this will change as I get better (or as my expectations rise, whichever comes first). My best round is 105, so there's still plenty room for improvement there, but the important thing is I can't wait to get back on the course.

And that's me.

Red face

Doh!

Should probably have mentioned that I'm from London, and have been playing North West of there mainly in Hertfordshire - Little Hay, Rickmansworth, Shendish Manor.

Particularly looking forward to getting back abroad and playing again - Spain/Portugal.

Thanks for the P.S.

Welcome to the forum!!
You sound like you are well and truly hooked on golf now.
We all love to hit a drive long and straight (at least once in a game)
I hope it isn't too chilly for a game of golf in your part of the world right now.
Cheers
Julie

Thanks Julie. It's not too bad over here right now. Pretty damp which makes Greens pretty soggy, but it's about 10 degrees at the moment.

Playing again on Saturday. I'm an 'All weather' Golfer. ;-)
