Who do you cheer for in the NHL?

Since there are so many Canadians and other northerners on this board, I was wondering who people cheer for in the NHL?

I am going to the Ottawa-Philly pre-season game tonight in London, Ontario. Last night was Atlanta-Islanders in North Bay, Thursday is Phoenix-Toronto and next week the Caps against Carolina and Philly.

With my other duties and games it will only be about 35-40 games in 20 days. Golf has dried up for now. Maybe if the weather is good in mid-October.

Actually, like basketball, I enjoy it when it's a good game, but otherwise I just don't follow it.

I'm 40 minutes from their ring and have access to center ice tickets, lower section of upper deck...makes for a fun evening!

Don't ask me hockey questions, though...I'm still learning...

I was expecting too see you as a Pittsburgh fan with your last avatar. Open the thread, and low and behold I see a Caps Avatar.

I am a Washington fan in all sports except for Baseball, for which the Senators were around when I started watching but became a Royals fan as it was the next place I lived. So I try to cheer for the Caps when they give me something worth cheering about. I do love to watch Ovechkin play, and seem to see alot more games up here now that he is around. Hopefully they can become competitive enough so that he will stay around for a while.

Bruins, baby! They suck, but they are still my team. We make up for the hockey with the Sox, Patriots, and this year the new and improved Celtics.

I bought a 10 pack of Habs tickets for this season. 2 seats, one for me and one for my little guy. The season is pretty much sold out now (only singles left) I can't wait. We're huge fans in this house. We'll also pick up the Center Ice package that Comcast (I hope) will offer again this season.

Don't make offers you can't back up. If I was not going away for a few days Thurs and Friday next week I would have been on a plane to Burlington looking for my Bruins ticket. Thurs-Sat are my days off and stand by flying out of MCO is easy this time of year.

i know as ualtim said they suck and have an eary way of trading away top talent or just out right ruining them(who remebers Demetri Kavartolnov)trying to make a sniper into a defensive forward.had to trade away poor Ray so he could get the cup he deserved.

i gotta go before i end up in tears.

The last avatar was of Alexander Semin of the Caps. Like Ovechkin he is worth the price of admission.

I saw Dmitri Kvartalnov (same guy) play in Russia two years ago. The Russian second league. He was about 40 at the time.

The Bruins actually drafted him in the first round when he was 26 years old. He played the previous year in the old IHL in San Diego and lit it up.
