Your HS Football Career

Hey guys... Just wondering if any of you played football in high school. Im in my second year playing (grade 10). We're a varsity team (grades 9-12) in a senior league (grades 11&12). I was on the team last year , but didnt play much apart from specials (kick-off). Anyways, this year I'm getting a huge boost in playing time. Im the starting left defensive halfback, and on kick-off and PR. I'm one of two grade 10 players who are starters on the team. I'm 15 and playing against 19 year olds haha .

Anyways, did you guys play high school ball? What positions did you play? any memorable moments worth sharing ?

We finished 2-4 last year, and hoping to improve upon that and make playoffs this year. First game is tomorow afternoon. I'm nervous as hell, but very excited as well. Wish me luck

Good luck!! And my parents wouldn't let me play football. I played basketball and baseball. Our football team sucked though...

ya'll didn't play but 6 games last year? My old highschool will play there 5th or 6th game tomorrow night.

Played my Freshman and Softmore years before I decided to focus more on golf. Played QB and Safety.

I played offensive tackle in high school. At 5'11" 210 lbs I was one of the biggest guys on the team. Needless to say we weren't that good. I think our record was 9-31 during my 4 years. The competition in our area was
really tough and there were quite a few guys that went on to play for major colleges and in the NFL that we played against.

i played 1 yr in 8th or 9th grade.then found women and booze was more fun.

I played quite a few years in high school as a ruckman and full-forward....

All-conference midfielder in my junior and senior years.

Wait, you're talking about American Football? I played soccer, i.e. real football.

Offensive and Deffensive tackle. Senior year I didn't get much playing recognition. But at the end of the year, I had more time on the field than any other player on team.

We've got some real powerhouse high school football teams in this part of the state. When my daughter was a cheerleader I went to alot of games. These teams offensive and defensive lines averaged well over six feet tall (a couple were at least 6' 6") and about 300 lbs. High school!! And the quarterbacks could actually throw the ball! Bombs! It's a whole different game then back in the olden days when I was in high school.

Down in Artesia New Mexico, it's like what you see on, "Friday Night Lights." Yeah, they always win state.

I play real football. The one with a ball and 2 goals.

My team is a state championship winning team, and we should win again this year. We wen't undefeated this year. Im starting striker.

We actually just played a huge game today against our rivals from KC. I scored in the first 5 minutes We ended up winning 3-2.

I played my freshman year in a school with over 1400 kids, Played on the freshman team as a defensive tackle. Ended up playing 3 games JV and dressing varsity once, which was a huge accomplishment. Sophmore year, was ineligble due to transfering schools on open enrollment. Junior year I started as Defensive end, offensive quick guard with playing time as fullback and middle linebacker. Also played on all special teams, recorded 112 tackles and 11 sacks that year. Made first team ICL, which is the league we were in. Senior year, dropped down to 200 pounds to play stricktly fullback and linebacker. Ended up not playing due to having surgery to remove a benine tumor in my throat. Got in an argument with the head coach about how I wouldnt start because I missed two-a-days. Told him to F off, that I would join the golf team. They went 5-5 that year, and I found myself a new passion. Best decision I ever made.

I ended up in golf because of the politics in baseball.
