evidence his two suspensions in last years playoffs, and ive seen two seperate hits againts Detroit tonight that he literally threw a player into the boards, one penalized, the other the ref had his back turned.

Absolute dirty player.

I was never a hockey guy but i like Avalanche also, Foresberg i liked alot.. but because of the nasty play now, NHL is getting hard core on rules to get these guys. Rumors of Video post game suspensions could be in the works... Even if the ref doesnt see it, if the camera happens to catch something dirty SUSPENDED!!!

Actually, thats not a rumor....and its been happening for a while. If there is a dirty play, the team of the victimized player will send in a tape of the play for review to the league. Even if the play in question was not called or even seen by the ref.

Thats how Pronger got one one of his suspensions last year. He elbowed the Ottawa player in the chops...but the refs didnt see it. But he still got suspended after post game video review.

Thats an extremely good thing. Players shouldnt be able to get away with dirty play such as that.

Need to go back to the good ol days where there was more respect in sports.

you're kidding me. Pronger's hit last night was perfect, dude had his head down. Pronger is 6'6" it's going to hurt when he hits you. Keep your head up if you are going to skate across the middle.

The suspension in the playoffs was a joke, forearm to the face happens all the time when d-men are trying to push a guy to the outside. He barely hit the guy.

Last night the hit i was talking about is when he pushes the Red Wing player from behind INTO THE BOARDS.

The hit he was suspended for in the Cup Final was an open ice hit, harmless, but since his reputation he got suspended.

The hit from last night into the boards I did not see, I just saw the one where he levelled that dude at the blueline all Scott Stevens like.

The hit im talkin about last night was down in the corner. i have absolutely nothing against players laying ppl out on the blueline all SS like (he's one of the all time best D men imo) when theyre rolling through there with their heads down.

Remember Stevens on Kariya a few years back? That was HUGE.

The open ice hit was a late ass hit if i remember it correctly, im guna go try and find it on the web. The other one where he hits Holmstrom (i believe) into the boards from behind while Niedermeyer hits from the front into the boards was dirty as hell, for both players. Niedermeyer deserved the 5 & game and and Pronger deserved the afterwards suspension.

I've played and watched hockey for all of my life, find me a video on the hit in question and I'll give you my honest answer.

From my standpoint, pre-lock out hockey was phenomenal. Everyone finished their check, no one was afraid to get hurt, and if they were, they wouldn't be playing pro-hockey. Crosby wouldn't last at all in pre-lock out hockey.

Pronger is the type of player that dominated pre-lock out hockey and has a hard time separating himself from the two. He still finishes his checks regularly, and most of his that I've seen, are clean.
