Best game of the first round? Davidson-Gonzaga, with Davidson overcoming a 16-point deficit against a team that for most of the game looked unstoppable.

Honorable mentions: Drake - Western Kentucky (what a finish), San Diego State - UConn (the Toreros simply would not be denied.)

I didn't see the Villanova win over Clemson, but that sounds like a great game as well.

I had a 12th row ticket in my hand for all the Tampa games. Chose not to go. Oops...

Discuss.

I loved Belmont's moxie in that game, but they did it against a VERY sub-par Duke team.

texas a&m got screwed out of a win tonight.....yay for UCLA having an 'impartial' referee....

ucla played to their namesake....mauled anyone who dared drive the lane. easy to do when you're guaranteed the no-call. 4 of kevin love's blocks were fouls in my book. the ncaa should be ashamed....

rant over.

My alma mater managed to pull out another one over Georgetown today (even though I didn't have the guts to pick them in my pool. Glad Curry has another two years left.

Very impressive game. Davidson has taken down two very formidable teams so far. I think Gonzaga was a lot better than their record showed, and they were beating Davidson pretty handily for most of that game - until Curry showed why he is special. And they just plain took it to G'town. Awesome performance.

Mike is leading the ST bracket, and has NC to win it. I have NC to win it. Our brackets are the same, except that he has Memphis beating Texas. The only other guy who has NC is Sandwedge, and I don't think he has enough points left to take it.

GO NC, GO TEXAS !!!

Here a quote from CBS Sports columnist Gary Parish, dated March 24, 2008.

"Plus, when push comes to shove -- or hand comes to arm -- it's now pretty clear the Bruins are going to get favorable officiating, and that's a nice advantage to have when the goal is to win it all."

Here the column, in case you want to read it all. NCAA Division I Mens Basketball - CBSSports.com

When Louisville takes out Tenn and NC, the bracket is mine, all mine.

Don't tell the cheeseheads I took Davidson over Wisconsin.

I had Texas taking out the Stinkin' Badgers. You picked Davidson over the Longhorns? Gutsy call. Davidson looks to be the Cinderella this year. Fitting that they took out the 'Zags first. Wisconsin-Davidson should be a good matchup. Curry against the vaunted Badger D. Not that the rest of the guys on Davidson are slouches. They look to be a well-coached, and well-disciplined team.

GO VOLS !!!
