I know I'll take some slack for this being a huge Tenn. fan. I usually don't complain about officiating and a few calls don't cost the game. I know strong play wins games and weak play loses games.

Honestly though the officiating tonight has been horrible both ways. Even the tech they called on the Louisville player was questionable.

They have called a ton of touch and mystery fouls and have let a few hard knocks go unpunished. The score reflects the play of Tennessee and if they lose so be it. i just thought in the tourny it was supposed to be the best of the best officials.

In most of the games I've watched the officials have been really tight. Not letting the players play. I know college adapted the hand check rule a few years ago but you don't have to call it every single time. It's getting like the NBA where every play is a dunk, 3pt. shot or a foul.

Rant over....until FOOTBALL season starts. Then I become a totally different person.

I tell you what. I have never seen so much game-deciding officiating in college hoops as I have in this year's tournament.

WVU vs. Xavier last night. Alexander (WVU) hits a shot with 14 seconds left to tie, and gets a foul call, from a touch that wouldn't have harmed a butterfly wing. He ended up missing the free throw, and Xavier won in OT, but the call could have ended the game right there. Like you said, lots of "no-calls", and inconsistency.

The one thing I wish the refs would do is call the game consistently, from start to finish. Don't call everything early, then let them beat the crap out of each other in the last five minutes. Or let them bang it around earlier, and call T's for sneezing on the guy late in the game.

Exactly. I understand it's a tough job but some of the other things that piss me off are when the offical on the other side of the court makes a call. There will be an official standing right there and does nothing but someone from half court makes a call on a play in the paint.
