[quote=ManchesterGolfer;222176]I thought I'd been nice in this thread??? I don't normally have a good word to say on Liverpool but I've admitted Steven Gerrard is one of the best Central Midfielders in the world (but Rafa plays him else where).... Did any of you plastic Scousers see The Albion parading your old trophy about last week? (must admit one of the funniest banners in the crowds I saw this season was the Everton fans one at Anfield saying 'Welcome to Merseyside').

I have had a liverpool postcode for 28 years of my life and lived most of my life in Liverpool so not plastic at all!!, Nice to see the trophy has been put to good use!, I thought "there is only one team in liverpool" banner was good referencing Everton's move to Kirby, I don't actually think people hate United as a team, they hate the loud, obnoxious, in your face supporters who dont remember their near 30 year lean spell, of which thankfully MG is not one, but i know when we were winning the league we didnt ram it down peoples throats, we have been successful by winning 2 League cups,1 Champions League,2 FA Cup's,2 Super Cup, 1 Uefa Cup in the last 8 years, only surpassed by Man United in Honours.

this summers transfers for us are as important as the Houllier summer of 2002 - when, instead of buying Anelka etc, he bought Diouf, Diou and Cheyrou. Went from 2nd in the league to 5th.

nice.

Well MG, I was just about to watch the game (since I was at work while it was being recorded on my DVR.)

Normally I'd be pissed about the spoiler, but I knew United would win it, so it's no big deal.

Congrats to your team.

BTW - I saw that the average attendance at Manchester United home games is over 76,000. That's pretty impressive.

Again - congrats.

Well, Droghba hasn't much to be proud of. You simply don't slap an opponent. Not when you know that the ref has made it clear all match that he will use the card. Droghba threw away his chance at a point kick, and who knows, maybe that would have been the difference.

Looking back, I thought the match was decent. Ronaldo was fanatastic, although the Chelsea defense seemed in disarray at times. Both goals came from well-developed plays (although Chelsea's goal benefited from a pretty serious breakdown.) Overall, this match looked more like a World Cup game than a Premier League one. By that I mean the cheap fouls, dives and general mean-spritied nature of some of the players reminded me of how the biggest matches seem to bring out the worst in players. Hope I don't offend anyone here, but WTF is it with Portuguese and Argentinian players? Do they have to be complete dicks? When Rooney is the peacemaker in a match, something is definitely off-kilter.

50 years after the Munich air disaster...no better way to honour that team than to win the League Double!!! (Premier & Champions that is)

If you team is shite during the pinnacle of English Hooliganism, you have a good chance of not only not killing anyone, but not winning anything at the same time.

United were the better side yesterday. Ronaldo's penalty was horrible, (gving me at least a bit of solace... yeah, I watched the match) and Terry falls on his arse with one hand on the Cup? Incredible.

I was hoping the Penalties would go another round or two, and the Cup would have been won with the uttermost ridiculous moment in the history of the competition. Either Cech or Van Der Sar taking or missing a penalty. Would have been appropriate! Or at least amusing.

Classy guy Paul Scholes, consoling Terry immediately after the match.

The sniper I hired to shoot Ronaldo whilst he flopped about on the ground and cried after the match (seeming unknowing, or rather because, a dozen cameras would be trained on him) failed miserably. It was SUPPOSED to be a head shot. That's what I get for hiring Dirk Kuyt to do the deed. Stupid bastard never could shoot.

When we were shite you had to win the league to qualify (apart from when your 'great supporters' got us banned). Your 5th European cup side has to be the worse team that has ever lifted it!!! (granted the team before the ban has to be one of the best)...and old Shields'y got himself in trouble???

MICHAEL SHIELDS,,, HE GOT 15 YEARS....NOW HE'S GETTING BUMMED BY QUEERS!!!!

Why plumb the depths? your team have just succeeded in lifting their first Champs League in 9 years and you take great delight in slighting the past!, did you also know that per game the arrests for violent conduct is again well outweighed in favour of your great teams supporters!!, does it matter who was in the side? we won just like you did on penalties, so no paralell's to draw there.

Don't make out like their isnt a hooligan element in your midst, as it is just a fact the football authorities choose to ignore, christ there is even books written about the "crews" in modern day football, you were the width of a post away from failure.

So he can have a pop but I can't have one back? A post away from failure but the only unbeaten team in the Champions league this season, won every home match on the way to the final and fighting on more than one front to win the double... I think we deserved to win it.

More arrests at Old Trafford? A LOT more fans there as well mate... 42000 compared to 76000, percentage gate to arrests is there more??? I doubt it. The only trouble I've seen in ten years going to Old Trafford was when we won with a last minute goal and your fans left the ground before the end and waited out side.... They should have been locked in after the match a f*ck up by the police but your the self proclaimed best fans in the world. Or ask alan Smith what he thinks of the idiots that where rocking his Ambulance when he broke his leg on the pitch.

I'm gonna leave this Thread now as it seems that only one side are allowed to have a pop.

If this is true, I'm honestly disgusted and will look on Liverpool very differently.
