Who saw the MMA on CBS on Saturday night? What did you think?



My opinion. I was left with a sick feeling in my stomach. I'm sorry that I boosted thier ratings by watching this crap. To me, this is as much a "sport" as watching 2 pitbulls fight to the death. Not only should it be banned from mainstream TV, I feel it should be outlawed all together in this country. Grotesque display of violence. No more than 2 fighters trying to mame and disfigure each other. That dude's ear was just fing nasty.

I admit I am a MMA junkie. This was not MMA imo, this was a bar fight in a ring. I still dig it though. I am all for gratuitous violence, and this seems to fit the bill nicely.

EliteXC and CBS should be embarrassed. I've been watching MMA since 2000 and I was embarrassed that I recommended it to friends that haven't watched it before. It seemed to me that they set the matches up for brawlers so that it wouldn't go to the ground where the general public wouldn't understand the grappling aspect. I really think that they screwed the pooch on this one and was really disappointed. Should have pushed the WEC card that was on last night the Torres x Maeda and Faber x Pulver fights were more than entertaining.

Don't judge the sport as a whole on a company that has only been around for 18 months and a card employing nothing more than C level fighters.

On a side note watching highlights of the '74 US and got a laugh out of Johnny Miller taking 4 to get out of a bunker.

I was very dissapointed. very poor display of true mma. I was shocked tha Kimbo drew the main event when clearly it was a setup freakshow. neither one of those fighters had any business in the ring and the best fights got stopped. I was also suprised they pulled the WWF crap entrances.

I like UFC. I watched highlights of the MMA on CBS but didn't like it at all.

Anyone watching The Ultimate Fighter? I think CB has it in the bag. I thought Matt Brown was going to take it but Amir pulled off the upset.

i didnt watch the cbs show.but i have watched numerous bouts from ufc on spike.i am not a Kimbo fan anyway he is nothing more then a youtube thug.

if you watch any UFC with better MMA fighters like Liddell,Faber,Hughes and many others you would see its more then the sad a** street fight the CBS show apparently was.

Kimbo and that other freak were both listed as brawlers or freestyle fighters. so it was just a glorified street fight.

He didn't look too good last night, but he still came away with a win.

The problem with society is garbage like this. And Dancing with the Stars. And Survivor. And....the list goes on and on and on...

Garbage you say? I hear this same type of comment from people all the time. They don't seem to really understand how difficult the sport is, getting position, holding guard, submission defense, the obvious stuff like striking is exciting, but I like to watch a good wrestler totally control a guy and ground and pound.

Of course Traingles are cool too
