Those pesky Turks almost did it again. Another very entertaining match. Turkey owned the first half, but Germany came back strong in the second. There were a couple of "no calls" in the box that could have turned the match, but in the end, Germany's superior skills won out. Gotta hand it to the Turks. They played with passion and honor, and gave the Germans a real scare, despite being decimated by injuries and suspensions.

Apparently David Villa is out of the final, which will be a blow to the Spanish. As a Liverpool supporter, I hope Fernando Torres has a great match and leads the Spaniards to victory!

And now no Ballack for the Germans???? I'm just hoping for a good match... no..... a GREAT match. I Feel like watching a historic one today.

While the David Villa injury will be a blow to the Spaniards, I, too, am looking forward for a longer opportunity for Fernando Torres. It seems like they pull him out of the game just after they bring in Fabregas and Fabregas appears to be the only Spaniard who can provide consistant quality crosses to set up the strikers. I am hoping to see Torres get a full 90 minutes so we can truly see some of his brilliance when they finally bring Fabregas in today.

I'm expecting a 4-5-1 for the Spaniards..... Fabregas being the additional midfielder, with a free role to play quite close to a second striker with Torres if need be.

A bit like Steven Gerrard pushes forward with Torres for Liverpool.

I like the way Liverpool has used Gerrard and Torres together, if Spain can do the same with Fabregas it should make for some good offensive chances today.

I think it should be a great game. Villa being out for Spain is a blow, but it looks like Ballock (sp?) might not play for Germany. I think Spain will win the possession battle, but you can't ever count Germany out of a match. They can strike very quickly. I predict Spain wins 3-2 in regulation.

Ok, FINALLY I have ONE THING to be happy about my team in my entire life (yes, yes, I'm a Spaniard). They played great. They could have on 4-0 easily. They showed that offenive 45 players ahead game I hadn't seen in a while. Its so nice to win like that!!!

Going through withdrawals now. Now that the Euro 2008 is over and the Premeir league is on break, there are only re-runs on FSC. I was glad to see the Spaniards take the Euro, but now I will have to wait until the PL starts up again to see some good football. I can watch the MLS, but its on too late most of the time for me to answer the 4AM wake up alarm.

I would like to take personal credit for Spain winning Euro 2008 as it's the 1st time in 5 major championships Worlds & Euros that they haven't been burdened with the weight of my 10euro bet on them, I went for the Russians @25/1.......
