Wimbledon final

Wow. Holy crap. Nadal takes down Federer 6-4, 6-4, 6-7, 6-7, 9-7! Amazing displays on both sides.

If someone can catch Federer, someone can catch Tiger.

Great match. Hard to compare Roger to Tiger, though. In tennis, you play the other man, in golf you play the course. Roger has to beat one man at a time, Tiger has to beat everyone else in the field. Roger has maybe 5 years left to be at the top of the game, Tiger could have another 10-15 years easy. They are both great champions, but it is very hard to compare how they each have dominated their sports.

Federer made too many unforced errors I thought. Nadal was as good as I've seen him on grass. The only reason it was close were the aces that Federer was able to produce when he was facing break points.

Nadal was forcing the game on Federer though, making it a baseline duel which is Nadal's strength. I thought it was the greatest tennis match I've ever seen, and I've basically seen all of Roger's Wimbledon triumphs

You must have missed the Sampras Agassi match when Sampras was sick as a dog, puking between points, barely able to stand up propping himself up with his racquet between points then hitting ace after a ce. THAT was the best match I've ever seen.

The match this weekend was top 3 though.

Wonderful match I have to say. This guy just has way too much stamina. You could see Federer's shot loosing distance an strength by the end of the game, while Nadal was still complete.

McEnroe was commentating for the BBC and was quoted as saying "It was the greatest match I have ever seen!"

Now analysts read into that because the McEnroe v. Borg final has always been hung there as the greatest match ever, interesting to hear Mac say that it was the greatest final he has ever SEEN.

I don't think that is Federer finished. He is strong enough to come back from that. And outside clay, Nadal still has a lot to prove, although he's started pretty well.

Mesmorising TV on Sunday! Great for the game.
