Sir Charles at the Century

I put this thread in "Other Sports" since what Sir Charles does simply can't be called "Golf," even though he does have a golf club in his hand while he attempts it.

Did anyone else see the 40-yard pitch shot yesterday when his club flew out of his hands? He took some form of practice gyration (it actually looked like his real swing) that made me a bit seasick, then hit the ball about 15 yards sideways, and the club flew out of his hands and landed behind him. Simply nuts.

The ESPN interview before the tourney came on was priceless. He talked about his gambling problem, saying that he had promised his family to NEVER gamble again. Then the interviewer asked him whether the 500-1 odds he carried in the tournament meant that he would win once in 500 tries. He laughed and said, "No, but we should get a bunch of people to bet on me, then throw the tournament so I win. We'll make a fortune!"

He was asked why his swing hadn't improved, considering that he plays golf with Tiger Woods, the best player in the world. He answered, "I'm very disappointed in Tiger. He hasn't helped me a bit. I'm calling you out, man - you're a terrible coach." The interviewer was cracking up, and so was I.

I've never been a big fan of the guy, but he sure made me laugh yesterday...

From what I understand, most of the celebs who are the fence about their golfing skills will enter any tournament Barkley is in figuring that they will at least be able to beat Sir Charles and not look nearly as foolish doing so.

I remember his swing being similar to a full body dry-heave.... anybody have any video of it?

For all of you beginners, this is what you do not want your swing to look like

Charles Barkley Swing

Edit: I ask this question, How can such a good athlete hit the ball so bad?
