Plaxico Burress shot himself in the GD leg "accidently" in a night club. What a dip$hit. It's a shame since the guy is so talented but this is beyond TO or even Pacman retarded $hit. I highly doubt the Giants will take him back, even if he is able to come back. The incident is still under investigation. My vote is to just cut ties with him. If there is a way out his contract in all this, dump him like a hot rock.

I agree. If that gun wasn't 100% legit, ban him for life. If it was, ban him for a year.

I have to say, things like this being a big reason, the NFL has a good policy on minumum age to play. You'd think that a guy as old as Burress would have fcking grown up by now.

Conduct is almost secondary in the league, even with Goodell prancing around with his "last straw" effort with Pacman. Ya Rog, 13 strikes is enough. You the man.

The NFL is a business. And, sadly, alot of that business is to the very demographic that these guys fail to break free from - poor, uneducated and culturally challenged. You have to start this shit at the college level (see: University of Florida, etc) before you will ever see a change at the pro level.

Idiots they are, but they still bring asses into the stadium for the seats. And that is why the NFL isn't overly concerned with their image.

When I read this on the ESPN ticker I couldn't believe it either? Even if the gun was registered, and he has a permit to carry it, both of which I seriously doubt. Don't most all nightclubs have policies and signs banning bringing guns in?

Latest info I read said that Plaxico was not licensed to carry a concealed weapon in New York State and his Florida license to carry a concealed expired in may.

The injury will take him out of the next few weeks worth of games, that should give the league enough time to suspend him further. If I recall correctly, Plaxico is not a first time offender with the league so he is minimally looking at a multi game or season long suspension. Of course, the league normally defers to the legal system and passes its judgement after the legal system makes a descision, but it will allow the team to suspend him through the trial date if they so choose (see Vick, Michael).

Looks like Plax will become a Raider or Cowboy in the offseason.

On the other hand, do you think less people would go if they actually came down on them? Not so much TO, he's just a loudmouth idiot, same with Ocho Cinco, but the others who are actually breaking the law.

I think that for as many might be irritated by what the NFL did, plenty more, myself included, would respect the NFL for their policies and be more inclined to watch or go. Not to mention, very, very few of those who actually care about their ass hitting the grass would stop watching.

From what I heard this morning, the Giants have some kind of clause in his contract that will allow them to break free for certain "legal" issues. If a gun violation is on there, he could be a Cowboy or a Raider by July.
