Tony Romo

I say boot him at first chance. He's football's Phil Mickelson.

Cowboys need to drop coach, TO, Pacman, Romo, and get Shanahan and Cassel.

Tough call, I think having a new owner would be the best thing. I have never liked TO and thought he was going to be a cancer no matter where he lands. I have always felt Wade Phillips is a clueless coach. Pacman does not belong in football. While I'm in no way convinced Romo is a good quarterback, I am also not convinced his only problem isn't the distraction of the prior 3 mentioned. Certainly not convinced I would eat his contract. They did win a lot of games with him, and when you consider Cassel did a great job, he also had Moss and Welker to throw the ball too. Which going into a Dallas team that just lost their best receiver in this scenario, and having to rely on Whitten and Williams to catch the ball, you are asking alot. You can't ignore the fact that Cassel was handed a recieving powerhouse offense.

You also need to consider the fact that NE may very well make Cassel their Franchise player regardless of Brady's return. I'm also really doubt that Dallas will be able to afford Cassel with either Romo, or the remains of his contract penalties.

Further, while I think Shanahan would be the best step, I'm not sure he would deal with Jerry Jones and would go the route of any smart coach, as was the case with Parcells. Nor am I certain Jones would give him the control he would demand as one of the most pursued coachs along with Cowher.

So while if I were a Cowboys fan I would love that scenario, as a Redskins fan I can't help but sit here and giggle at their demise.

Unfortunately I was hoping the same would happen in Philly, only after winning a playoff game they may return with both Reid and McNabb. While short term, that is not good, long term it will give me something to look forward next offseason.

Pacman was released earlier this week.

Shanahan won't take the Cowboys job. Jerry Jones is the new Al Davis, and Shanahan already worked in that shadow once and did not like it.

Cassel is going to get franchised in New England. Brady is not going to be ready to start the season next year so Cassel will not be going anywhere. While Cassel did an excellent job filling in for Tom, this was essentially the same offense that broke the record for TD passes and TD receptions last year. There are a lot of offensive tools and a steady O line, a luxary he would not get playing most places that are going to need a QB. In 2010, someone will overpay for Cassel and probably not end up too pleased. IMHO, Cassel is the next Chad Pennington. Steady enough to get you into the playoffs, but he is not a QB that will lead a team to a Super Bowl. Cassel could win some rings in a ball control offense that is paired up with a great defense like the Ravens or even the Steelers. He has learned not to turn the ball over, but he is not going to beat you with his arm.

Romo is not going anywhere, Jerry Jones has a man crush on him. He will get rid of everyone else before Romo goes.

I never liked Romo, or never saw were the real potential was. ere was a comparison n the ESPN network some time ago between young QB (Rivers, Romo, Big Ben, Cutler), and most gave Romo the best chances. I still don't understand what has he done. He hasn't won plaoff games like BB. He hasn't won important games in the last drives like Rivers has. He doesn't have the arm Cutler has, so, where is his magic?

He is the most accurate passer in the league if you've ever watched him. He didn't have any time to pass at the end of the year and TO is just a dink. He was the best QB in the league up until everyone around him melted. No running game and the other team (as in Eagles) can blitz every down. The Dallas offensive line sucks as bad as Green Bay's.

I really get tired of the QB getting all the blame for wrong routes, poor blocking etc.

Look at the pathetic numbers put up by the Ravens rookie QB and the Pat's Cassel (sometimes). They still win.

Too much blame and credit go to the QB.

Give me a break. I admit, its not solely his fault, but how many years has he choked? Okay Warbird, let's look at it this way...this year Eagles was win and in, HAD to...Romo gets sacked 3 times, and fumbles two of those, throws an INT, and throws for a rating of 55.8. Did you watch him play? Yeah, it wasn't all his fault, but boy did he choke...in a game that counted.

Kind of like in 2007, when he threw a pretty poor game against the Giants. Now I'll give you that the Giants were full of upsets, but that doesn't excuse how he played.

Kind of like in 2006, when he botched that field goal.

Look, Romo is good, but only when its only sort of important. What's the point of keeping a QB around when he's proven 3 years consecutively to not have one win in playoffs, and cannot close a deal?

As you say it yourself, they get blamed, but they do get all the credit when things go well. MVPs are mostly QBs, Huge contracts go to QBs.

I wouldn't have given Manning last year's Superbowl's MVP. The game was not won due to his very strange play, it was won because the Defense was able to get to Brady 500 times during the game. What would Manning's play would have meant if Brady would have scored 42 points? Strahan would have been a much better MVP, IMHO...

The Cowboy's problem is it's owner. How can you really expect to put a bunch of criminals and showboats together and make them a team? That's their problem.. they have all the talent in the world, but can't play as a team. TO is obviously a cancer. He ran Jeff Garcia out of SF.. got into it with Mcban in Philly... now he's pointing fingers at Romo and Garret in Dallas!

This is all fine with me tho.. I hate Dallas

You can ask my dad, I said at the beginning of the season what the Cowboys should do in my eyes. TO gone, Pacman gone, Romo gone, and head coach gone.

You might be able to get the showboats together if you have a coach that is a hardass, which theirs isn't.

Yeah, get rid of Romo. Send him over to my ailing Rams. We need a quarterback, or for that matter, a team.
But hell. At least I'm a loyal fan.

Actually Bulger is not a bad QB if he has an offensive line, and this year a head coach. That and the fact they lost Bruce and Holt is getting old. I paid both handsomely and dearly for him in my Dynasty fantasy league over the last few years.

The guy threw for 4,300 yards 2 years ago, 2,200 yards in 8 games the year prior, and almost 4,000 the two prior years.

The guy has averaged 245 yards a game in his career, including his poor seasons. I would take him on the Redskins even over Campbell, Romo, or Cassel for that matter. If you get Romo, please send Bulger to Washington and call it repayment for Trent Green.

I like Bulger as well. I just think he's been hit too many times and it's time for a changing of the guard. Trent Green? Who dat? Yeah, sorry.

But hey. Sitting here watching the Cards spanking the Panthers. Who'd have thunk it? I was hoping, but they are all over the receivers when Jake is throwing the ball.
