Bears Make Herschel Walker Like Trade

Looks like the Bears, desperately hoping to find a QB after 20+ years and 20+ starters of ineptitude, decided to mortgage their future by trading two #1's, and #3, and Kyle Orton for a disgruntled QB and a #5 pick.

Cutler brings his 17-20 record over 2 1/2 years as a starting QB, his strong arm, and his crappy whiny attitude to Chicago, where he'll be throwing to sub-par receivers from behind a sub-par offensive line. At least when he's off the field he'll be supported by an aging and over-rated defense.

The best part of this deal for the Bears is they will not be able to fill their other needs with first round picks over the next two years.

HeHeHeHe. That first Sunday Night Football game in Lambeau should be a treat.

I dont remember the stats too well, but Cutler was like 16-1 when his team allowed 21 pts or less, which points out how crappy the Denver D was.

But Cutler is still a not a winner.

Man---I was worried that Bears would make a serious move with all those high picks in a talented draft pool. BUT they snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory. Cutler or similar could have been obtained for cheaper. No patience. And the Bears public statements the last few years were they were comfortable with their QBs?????


Packers are just the opposite. Ted Thompson would not trade for a another player if all the other team wanted was a blocking sled. Free agency is "vacation time" for him. Oh well Lions, Bears and Queens continue to "self destruct" and Packer survive through mediocrity. Works for me--I guess????

Will be interesting as Pack goes to a 3-4 defense. This NFL North is up for grabs. Will be an even race with a very average record taking the Division Championship. Perhaps 8-8 or 9-7.

Packers will be passing team with no run game
Good pass D but new 3-4 defense but unable to stop run. Running backs will have career days against them.
Lambeau field still sells out.

Bears run run run run but can not pass. What's new?
Run stoppers but weak against pass.

Vikings Peterson is best running back out there but as happened with Lion's Barry Sanders the pass is dismal. Same results.
Run defense great but pass D is well -----questionable is kind way of putting it.

And Detroit---0 and 16 They will win game (s) this year. Millin is gone isn't he??

Having Cutler surely makes things better for the team, but I do agree the price was a little bit too high. First and third round selection this year would have been enough. Two first round and a third round pick? Too much. Specially since there is no one to throw that ball to... Now they have to push for Boldin as hard as they can. Its the only way out....

As well, I liked Kyle Orton. Yes, he is not a first class QB but was kind of doing his job. At least he could have done so until we got a new cheaper younger promising QB.

Let' wait and see.

I am not a big Cutler fan by any means. But living here in SEC country, I saw him pick apart top rated SEC defenses practically single handed. Vanderbilt never had the weapons to match up with the other teams, but he found ways to score. I think if given a decent amount of talent and a offensive scheme that wasn't geared to make running backs the main centerpiece, he has the talent and ability to be successful in the NFL.

The division hinges on the Pack's switch to the 3-4. If, and it's not a small if, they can move up to just the middle of the league in defense against the run and close out a few games, the division should be theirs.

Bears defense is another year older. Their o-line is more than just suspect. Vikings defense is another year older; Sharper, the Williams twins, etc. Detroit? They're starting from scratch.

A little defense from the Pack, a little better finishing of games by Rogers, and 10-6 gets it done. Though with Tauscher out and maybe gone, and Clifton nearing the end, they do need to shore up the offensive line.

It doesnt matter whos at QB for the Bears, Bears still win.

Cutler is a fine QB, and with all the other additions they have made this off season, I see them kicking some ass this year.

Cutler was 17-20 as a starter, mainly because the defense sucked....he passed for over 4500 yards last year and was a pro bowl QB....O'yeah, did I mention that the Packers suck!?!?!?!

We'll see at the end of the year. Bears have a good (not great) coach, a good (not great) RB, and now a good (not great) QB. The front office SUCKS...........the Wide Receivers SUCK.............the OL is ready for medicare.................and wait until Cutler's soft little hands start freezing in the icy cold winter. What were all the other amazing pickups over the off-season? I see them getting their ass KICKED big time this year. I bet the Lions beat them...............LOL.

o-LINE HAS BEEN UPGRADED! They have signed three new lineman, two of them are about avg.

Hands freezing?????.......he's from Northern Indiana, and has played ball the last three years in Denver..........?????????????????

WR?....STILL WORKING ON THAT ONE, but they do have Hester who is still learning and probably will be better this year, a stud tight end in Olsen, who is getting better each year, a RB who lead the team in rushing and receiving this pass year, and o' yeah, now they have a QB that can get them the ball!

and the Lions????....man, we can both agree that they wont beat the Bears or the Pack.
