All reports are pointing that way, what the hell is with this guy & why won't he just stay gone? Anyone want to bet he doesn't end up in Minnesota this year?

some guys just don't know when to turn it off.
its why guys like jordan and barkley and elway amass huge gambling debts, and play golf and stuff for big money...just can't get away from the thrill of competing and winning.

He might be able to play and have an awesome season, but he has the chance to ruin whatever was left of his glory after signing for the Jets, and end up like a moron. He was a Packer, he is a Packer, end your bloody career like that and stop being silly!
It would be terrible to see him LOOSE against Cutler and my Bears twice this year hehehehehe

If he doesn't wanna suck again, I would suggest he signs with a new team before training camp rather than waiting until the end like last year. Hard to learn a new offense and get accustomed to your new team mates in a couple of weeks.

I am with this...
We already know he has an addictive personality(pain killers anyone?) and the rush of competing is something he is addicted to....just like a crack addict...
Just imagine what kind of crack addicts we would have if they were paid millions of dollars and idolized to do it?
I will keep my Freedom, my Money, and my Guns...you can keep the change.

I hope he resigns with the Packers, then immediately retires, as a Packer, the way he should have in the 1st place.
Otherwise he will just perpetuate the joke he became the past couple of seasons.

Actually he should sign with the Pack as the #2 and sit on the bench for the year w/a big apologetic smile on his face. Furthermore, he should have a press conference somewhere along the line and exclaim my fav. quote....."I... am... such an idiot", and apologize for being so. All the while begging for the forgiveness of the fans. Then retire how he should've.

As I'm sure I said last time around, I have no use for this person any longer. ANYTHING and EVERYTHING he ever did is completely overshadowed by what a moron he really is.
Best thing that could happen for him and football is that he get a non-life threatening injury that ends his career for him.
He is, IMHO, one of the biggest all time losers in professional sports.
I will give him his due on his talent and his records, btw.
Wi,
Just curious what reports you are talking about? The only thing I heard that would maybe lead to people thinking such is that he asked to be released from his contract with the Jets.
My natural instinct was that this would fan the flames, although thinking about it more, it made sense that if wishes to do what would be obvious and retire and go into the Hall of Fame as a Packer he would logically do such. My intuition tells me that he may be signing a one day contract with Green Bay around the time they have their first home game of the year.
Although I haven't heard any other reports, the last I did hear was that he answered a response to Trent Dilfer that he had no intent to return.

wow, you guys are hard. did you give Montana this tough a time too?
I think he should do whatever he wants as long as a team wants him. He's not hurting me and it seems that he just really likes to play football.
Just the idea that he could still have enough talent and athletic ability to play quarterback in the NFL at 39 is awesome in my book.
I'll admit that I was disappointed in how handled things with the Packers but I'm over it now.![]()

Different situations as I don't recall exactly but wasn't Joe basically let go by the 49ers? He also didn't badmouth the team & talk smack about them afterwards either. Went to the Chiefs where he actually performed fairly well before finally retiring gracefully.
Favres problem, or actually the issue a lot of us have with him is how he handled the whole mess. It was he who decided to retire & then waffled a bit before stating he was staying retired. The Packers said ok & went ahead with Rogers, then Favre started his shit & was blaming the Pack for dumping him. He has an issue with Thompson for some reason & instead of being a man & accepting responsibility he wants to deflect blame & accuse everyone else while attempting to sabotage his former team.
