My uncle is in right now, getting out in August. Vehicular manslaughter, dwi, first offense, never even been pulled over before. Got 5 years, and was lucky to get that. The judge is known to be very corrupt (especially with the Packers here in Green Bay...), plus she was a family friend of the victim (uncle's best friend). BS.

I have no respect for anyone who drinks and drives. There should be no mercy, no buying your way out, no nothing. A cab is a phone call away, if thats too difficult you can rot your ass off in jail for all i care.

I agree with Lyle. I think diminished capacity is horse shit. If you make the decision to drink, then end up behind the wheel of a car, you ought to be held accountable for the consequences of your actions to the fullest extent of the law. If you're going to make those kinds of decisions, you aren't safe to be a member of society.

Saw it yesterday morning when they were comparing 30 days for Manslaughter to Michael Vick getting almost 2 years for Dog Fighting.

They where actually justifying it in that Vick knew what he was doing was wrong. Kinda like saying Stallworth didn't know drinking and driving was wrong until he killed someone???

This is not to say that I thought Vick's sentence was unjustified. You live in the spotlight and do something that stupid to jeopardize your livelihood, you deserve to have someone set and example of your stupid ass.

Come on guys, he paid the family of the victim off, didn't flee the scene and cooperated with the authorities. That should be more than enough to knock a max sentance of 15yrs down to 30 days!

What's harder to believe, that he got 30 days, or that the family is ok with that?

I heard on ESPN where they stated that the 15 year old daughter to the victim was ok with 30 days and a forever suspended license

They must be getting A LOT of money. Absolutely ridiculous nonetheless.

At least the NFL has suspended him indefinitely.

I heard on espn that he could be suspended for as little as one year. In fact I would almost guarantee that he won't be suspended for more than two seasons.
