16 year old Baseball phenom

Any of you guys see the ESPN 360 piece on the kid from Nevada? He can hit a baseball almost 600 ft. Seems to have his head screwed on pretty straight now, hope it last. Kid has crazy skills. Can play anywhere. Can throw a 96 mph fastball, throws runners out from his knees when catching, in other words, this kid is a freak. He has left High school to go to a JUCO, will probably spend a year there and will probably be drafted at 17, and get a 10 million signing bonus. Should be interesting to see this kid develop. I just hope he can stay clean and out of trouble.

Not only clean and out of trouble, but if he can stay healthy and uninjured will be huge as well.

Wow! There's no telling how good that kid will be when he gets to the pros and starts on the right mix of steroids.

Kid's name is Bryce Harper. I really hope he can stay clean(in all aspects). His parents seem pretty down to earth, and he seems like he is focused on his goal. The way he can hit a baseball, he does not need to worry about steroids. His bat speed is better than almost all the guys playing in the bigs now.

His bat speed is over 100mph which is freakishly fast.

Re: 16 year old Baseball phenom

Someone needs to give the kid a driver. 100mph bat speed would probably convert to something north of 140 for a driver.

The exact same thing crossed my mind Wirehair, but then thought better of it.

I mean, think about it, if this kid takes up game, imagine how much that would skewer internet yardages!
