Me and Crossfire at OCN

Crossfire and I got together on Saturday for a round at Orange County National. We played the Panther Lakes course, which I think is an amazing value at $38 after 2:00pm. Beautiful course, in great shape. We played a reasonably fast round (blazing fast, if you count "minutes per Eracer's shots"), on pace for about 3:20 until we caught up with a threesome ahead of us. Still finished at 3:50. The rough was much thicker than I'm used to, and I was in it a lot, so I didn't have a very good day. My swing was wandering back and forth between OK and dismal all day long, so it was a bit frustrating. I quit keeping score after nine holes, and that seemed to help. Crossfire must have been getting a little bored watching me hack me way around. If so, he hid it well. He's a great guy, and a pleasure to play golf with. Pretty good golfer too. He had a few wayward shots, but stayed totally cool and focused. And a lot of his shots were very, very nice. Ezra, you better bring your game with you to Bethpage... The weather was nice, although we did have to break out the rain gear a couple of times. It never rained hard enough to be a problem. Rain gloves make it easy. BTW Crossfire, I got one of your stinky gloves. OMFG I can smell that thing from here - and my bag is in the other room. What did you pick up with that thing, rhino poo? They do have washing machines at PGCC, don't they?

Quote of the day:

I asked Crossfire whether there were any hot chicks in his school. He said, "There's one girl, and I look better in a skirt than she does."

I'm looking forward to hooking up for another game. I promise I'll play better next time...

It was an awesome time, we will deffinatly have to get together a foursome sometime. And now i am very excited for World Woods, knowing the type of people shottalk has on it. My play was very hit or miss, I hit 7 GIR on the front with 6 good looks at birdie (under 12') but putting on overseeded greens is tough. My favorite was on the 17th par 3, (the second picture) Eracer was trying to do an Ezra impersonation with a knockdown cut fade slice draw 9 iron that travels 6' off the ground then checks up. He chunked it into the water in true Ez style . Shame it wasnt a driver hole or he'd have a very nice skymark to go with it. Overall, a very great day of golf, all poor play aside. I would love to do it again.

Sorry I missed it. Could not break away from another commitment. Nice pics for such a lousy day. The only good thing about yesterday is it kept the grass wet enough so I did not have to mow it.

In Pic #2, is that guy on a cell phone on the green?

Not unless Rock was down here and didn't tell anyone.

Great pics and nice to know you guys were thinking of me. I think we're going to have to implement some HGH testing before the match at Bethpage though... cripes, I'd hope you can outdrive me Crossfire, I think your shoulder are just a tad smaller than Brian Urlacher's.

Looks like a great course and glad you guys had a good time.

Hey Cross, you better bring a bit more game with you back up here so we can really stick it to Ez and Twofast at Bethpage. They won't have a chance. Should we colour coordinate too? I say either bleu or red, but i'd perfer bleu.

Orange County is in Florida????

Where the hell did I get the impression that it's in CA?

My apologies also to any Floridians who are / were offended by my assumptions....
