This picture turned out great. My work colleague took it going home last Friday night. The street lights mixed with the snow gave it a terrific "almost looks like it was painted" effect.

This is Queen's University, Belfast, (QUB) Northern Ireland. It is where I spent four happy years as an undergraduate, many moons ago.

This is our 1-2 days snow a year. Most of it melted by Saturday. In fact I was playing golf on Sunday in beautifully bright (but cold) conditions, albeit at the coast about 60 miles away.

About QUB:

Queen's University Belfast has a record of academic achievement which stretches back more than 150 years. Founded by Queen Victoria, the Queen's University in Ireland, was designed to be a non-denominational alternative to Trinity College Dublin which was controlled by the Anglican Church.

The University was made up of three Queen's Colleges - in Cork, Galway and Belfast. Although it was the first University in the north of Ireland, Queen's drew on a tradition of learning which goes back to 1810 and the foundation of the Belfast Academical Institution.

Its collegiate department, which provided University-style education, closed with the establishment of Queen's and four of its professors and many of its students transferred to the new college.

Founded in 1845, Queen's opened in1849 when the first students entered the magnificent new college building designed and built by Charles Lanyon. Since then, the University estate has grown to more than 300 buildings - many of them listed for their architectural importance. The first batch of students numbered 90. Today there are some 24,000.

Do you know the difference between a BMW and a porcupine? The porcupine has its pricks on the outside.

Teh Master!

How's it going? What will you be studying? Make sure to sign up for the Golf team. Every Wednesday at Malone! And colours matches down at RCDGC and Portmarnock! Have you got wheels these days? Need to get you back up to Portstewart for a match soon.

IG long time no speak. I have applied for MEng in Computer Science

I am definitely going to sign up for the golf team, although I haven't played much since Belvior put us out in the Junior Cup match play, it was 2-2 and it came down to my match which went to the 4th tie hole where I eventually lost. I want to get back into it asap. I have a set of wheels these days so will need to get up for another game perhaps around Easter? I am going to Portrush around that time to stay in a friends holiday home for a few days think we are playing Portrush and possibly Portstewart, so it could work out nicely then.
