Scotty Mid Sur -- pics before custom shop!

just took some pics before i send it off to the custom shop. part of me tells me to save a boatload of money and just take it to a golf smith and pay them $10 for a hackjob but it is my first scotty, so i guess i should pamper myself.

initials, reshafting (changing lie to standard, cutting shaft to 33.5, and changing loft to 4.5), and putting on some custom shop grips and headcovers.

Nice, why the change in loft?

Sounds good. But for the total price(i think i remember you saying that you paid $100 for it) you could buy a new Studio Style off ebay.

Sorry, I just had to do that.

In all seriousness, what color paint fill are you getting on your Anser Clone?

Sorry..... I mean your Scotty?

Didn't the custom shop refuse to cut a board member's putter to the length they wanted? Because it wasn't the "optimal length"? bullshit... They probably won't cut it to 33.5"...

Yeah that happened to someone on here. I personally think that they will do it, i just dont know how well the putter will stand up to having the lie changed by that much.

well to my surprise, and gratitude, the mid sur has a lie of 71 degrees -- i was misinformed by the shottalk member who got confused with the big sur which has a lie of 80 degrees.

i can get it cut and regripped for 6$ at the local shop, or i can send it in, get my initials, some orange paintfill, and adjust the loft to 4.5 degrees (the greens are a little bit longer in ny) and get the cool custom grips/hc that i can sell for 150% profit on ebay if i want too.

the only thing thats holding me back is the 15 day return time, with shipping will be close to three weeks. im thinking of just doing a hack job and sending it off in the winter now.

Guilty. I need to pull my head out of the dark moist place. I'd be surprised if the Scotty Shop will cut down a mid sur. Unless you're a touring pro, initials will hurt resale.

Exactly. Go for the local shop job.
