See Eracer swing. See Eracer hit the ball.

OK guys - I present my aged swing for your amusement, and hopefully, your constructive criticism.

I see the following:

Negatives:

A definite lack of wrist angle coming into the ball. My right hand seems to be trying to take over about 3/4 of the way down to the ball.

No foot action to speak of.

Slight sway off the ball.

Not enough hip turn at impact.

Positives:

Tempo is not bad.

Weight shifting to the left side pretty well.

Shoulder turn is not too bad.

Your comments (about the golf swing) are welcomed.

Even yours, R35...

That place is awesome. So google has their own video format now. Cool.

Anyway, it's too jumpy through the firewall/proxy/citrix server here at work. So I could never see any kind of fluidity.

The stop frames though, were pretty telling.

You need to get that left arm straight! Believe me, I know. My swing looks the same. I bet you hit a lot of thin shots.

From what I saw of it, which isn't much really, your swing looks pretty decent except for the extension of the left arm through, and just after, impact.

I'll have to check the vid from home to see the entire thing without the jumpiness.

Thanks Augster. Check it out at home and let me know if you see anything else. I actually don't thin the ball much. I think it's because I compensate with my right hand driving the club into the ball. Of course, that's what leads to my big problem - Pulls.

Actually, my big problem is chips. THAT's what I need to get some covert on-course video of...

I have been working on hinging the wrists much sooner in the backswing, basically right after takaway. This helps to maintain the shaft angle through impact, much better ballstriking. For chips I just hinge and hold, never break the wrists. I'll have mine up next week for sure.

your short game must be crap . I'd have guessed about 10 h'cap from that swing as it's very good.

Being picky (as you know I like to be), then there are just two points and one only counts as half really.

1/2: Wrist roll at the start of the swing but only slight.
2: Your full power at impact is restricted by your left elbow sticking out towards the target instead of folding and allowing your right side to power through.

But I must be missing something because if a pull is your bad shot doing what I say will make it worse. I'm sure I could nail it if you did a down the line view.

PS: Excellent clip but please wear full length trousers next time

EG - you are so right on both counts...
First my short game is atrocious. I don't know if I need acupuncture, hypnosis, hoodoo-voodoo, or what to fix it. It's a mental problem.

Second - I almost always wear long trousers on the course, as I don't want to frighten any small chidren that may be wandering by. I'm not sure why I decided to wear shorts this time. I'll get more video, and I promise - no more shorts.

Cheers!
