Robert Trent Jones Trail - Ross Bridge

This is the newest course on the Trail. It is located here in Birmingham. The complex here now has three championship courses, Ridge, Valley and Ross Bridge, in addition to an 18 hole par 3 course.

All of the courses on the Trail are reasonably priced for the quality of golf, service and clubhouse...usually between $45 to $65 including cart. Ross Bridge however is expensive...$115 in the Spring, Summer and Fall, $75 in the winter.

This is the first time I had played the course. I loved it...This course is over 8200 yards from the tips and we played from a distance of 7400 yards. It plays considerably shorter than that because most of the holes are downhill, which is nice because you have few blind shots and can see your ball as it hits the green.

There is a resort hotel/spa on the property and the Pro Shop is located in the hotel...

The first photo is hole #9 with a waterfall in the background.
The second photo is a mill which doubles as a bathroom. There is a waterwheel attached to the mill which feeds down the waterfall to hole #9 below.
3rd photo is a long par 3 - 190 to the hole from the tees we played...long water carry.
4th photo is another long par 3...

They are tough courses but first class in every way...I rarely shoot my handicap on them.

I've only played Ross Bridge during a shotgun tournament. I liked the layout and I thought the greens were probably the fairest I've played on the RTJ trail.

I think I would enjoy that Master...everyone I know here who has gone to the Emerald Isle has nothing but great things to say about it and its people...

We are lucky here to have a lot of sunshine though while at the same time getting a lot of rainfall too...

Nice looking pictures there Bravo. I really should go there sometime, since I'm pretty close. How far are they from Atlanta ?
